Go-Tech Engines Thread

Personally I would get a Go Tech 5 port turbo. That mill has more than enough power to move a truggy plus it gets excellent run times. If your choice is between the .25 or the .28, I would rather go with the .25.

Agreed, any of the GO .21 5 ports will do the trick. I had great luck with the jammin JP-2. Stock carb restrictor and it ran 9 min. easy. My buddies ran picco .28's and to smooth out the power you are lucky to get 6 min. the GO .25 I'm not sure.

I think most people have trouble because they are too impatient with the break in. These motors are very tight when new, and just need to be broken in properly. No motor will last if you just run a tank through it and then cane it. I am sure there is the odd ¨lemon¨ out there, but you get that with any brand - even the top dollar ones. On the whole I think you would find them one of the most reliable motors at the track.
5 Ports are very economical for their power output. 10 - 11 min with a 6.5 mm restrictor is quite obtainable, especially with the modded motors.

i only ask cause i thought after i ground down the lsn it would tune more like any other motor and that seems quite rich on top. just want to make sure as this motor has been giving me fits for quite some time now and was hoping that grinding teh lsn would help.

Sorry, I thought by starting out meant you hadn't broke it in yet. I think the hsn should be in from flush some.I don't have alot of experience with the Sport carb, I do set the needles for break in on the ones I sell and I've heard they are right on.

I favour the OS P3 or P4 personally.

Plenty of power were you need it, and you only got to stop every 10 min or so for fuel.
