They have a couple at Revelation raceway. Very clean setup. The plug for the battery is HUGE! I like the bullet connectors on the speed control as well. It will just make it that much easier to clean. I am still waiting to se how the electronics hold up though before i get rid of my 1/10 scale stuff. I still dont get the price though. You can get the kit for 420 these days. Add what they are selling the conversion and speedcontrol for and its 10 bucks less than the 8-e. This way you would still get all the nitro stuff as well as the springs and sway bars. They need to knock about $100 off. You guys notice they are not flying out the doors dont you.

Did it come with any type of instruction manual saying what setup the are using with suspension (shock oil, piston, camber etc.)
Any chance of a side on shot with the body on to see the clearance of the electronics?

5000 Losi pack fits well, looks like a maxamps 6000 will fit too
1.8x1.9x6.3 are the dimensions of the losi pack
no instructions aside from race roller instructions, esc and motor instructions (very limited)
clearance is very good clarence, a good maybe 1/3 of an inch

what are the dimensions of the losi battery?

Anyone know who makes the losi battery cells?

got my 8e today nice car but noticed that the car comes with the 2100kv motor but the installed pinion is a 16t. the manual recommends a 13t with 4s and 12t with 5s. anybody elses come this way? woulnd'nt this overgear the car?

you are right the engine is 2100kv and the pinion is a 16
the instructions suggests a 13
will have to call losi tom for this

I installed an airtronics servo and had to put 2 spacers instead of one
put in a spectrum reciever and charged the battery, took 70 mins to finish at about 16.7v with a hyperion charger, the balancer does not fit the losi balance tabs

The ESC was supposed to be in the default 2 setting but when I checked mine it was in the 3 (5S) setting
there is minimal cogging at the start of the throttle curve but after 1/8 throttle it is smooth and a beast, I have noticed it is not as sensitive or accurate as the 1/10 ESC where you can start the car slow
brake is supposed to be 20% but stops on a dime

How much torque does the servo need to have? I have a few servos with about 110 torque.

For you guys who have it already, Hows the ESC.

A 16 tooth was installed and extensively run on large 8th scale dirt tracks. If you are on a short course then consider a smaller pinion.

On a high traction surface you may experience some low speed cogging with the larger pinion.

The brakes are strong and the default is meant for dirt tracks, if your running high speed runs out in the street or other paved surfaces you need to be easy on the brakes or change the setting via the transmitter or on the esc itself.

If you are free reving the motor do not use push brake, just return to neutral otherwise you run the risk of damaging the esc, or possibly the motor.

I am curious about the ESC too. Our LHS says the Losi 1/10 brushless stuff gets returned often. I have 2 Mamba Max ESCs and they have not given me a bit of trouble. I ordered the conversion kit for my 8ight buggy and plan on doing a 4S MM setup. Have any of you guys with an 8ight-E run a few 5S packs through the Losi ESC? I am on the fence on which ESC to run. I would prefer a high volt setup >4S. I don't want to go through the MMM dance with the Losi 1/8 ESC. Any feedback would be appreciated.

This makes no sense to me.

If the default brakes are meant for low/medium traction (dirt) tracks, shouldn't the be less strong compared to what you can use on high traction (pavement) environments?

I mean, on loose dirt you can only use so much brakes before the wheels lock up, so the brake strength should be pretty low so you don't spin out and lose control every time you touch the brakes.

On pavement you have much more traction and thus potential stopping power, so stronger brakes can be used without fear of locking tires/spinning out. The only limit becomes your ESC/motor and how much braking power they can provide.

I will be using the 16 gear with a 4s losi 5000 pack tom when we race
the kit looks good, I have no complains with the speed and I dont bash, i just race
just ran it inside my house checking how it runs
the esc instructions says 13 tooth so will see tom racing with nitro 1/8
there is cogging with the esc with min throttle but with more than 1/8 it is smooth, dont know why Losi sent it out with a 16 tooth if it will overgeared but will see tom

i will race in a large 1/8 track in about 80-90 degree heat, if there is any cogging or shutdown will not use it, will use my nitro 1/8
but would like to show the nitros what an electric 1/8 can do with tons of torque
