Are you talking about the engine head or burn room button ?

Sport 3 port - You can use a turbo button off of a 5 or 7port.

Race 3 port - I think comes with a turbo.

The sport 3 port will run very good with a turbo head button, the sport engine has more bottom than the spec 3 but it doesnt have near the top, the spec 3 is turbo only, the spec 3 is also easier to control out of the turns, very fast engine., i have 2 available

hey gen how much did you take off in like millimeters? thanks man

Hi guys, I know there has been a lot of talk about what pipes to use with what engines, I didn't pay too much attention at the time because my 7 port turbo was running real good with a .053. As of last week it seemed to start changing on me. Wasn't running very good at all. I checked the usual things like fuel line, glow plugs, clutch etc. Everything checked out. Decided to try just for kicks to change the pipe to a JP-1 and seems to run really well with it. Won't know for sure until I get it on the track, but ran well up and down the street with just a slight difference in tunning from my .053. I still have the head shim installed. The engine is fully broken in now. What effect will keeping the shim in versus taking the shim out have on the engine?

Does anyone else have an opinion on using a JP-1 pipe on the 7 port T? For that matter, what about the other JP pipes?

Taking out a shim will give you more bottom end. My son was running a Nova 9901 on his 7 port last time out, haven't played around with many pipes yet though.

well i figured out my lean bog issue it was a carb leaking at the base where it seals to the engine so i ripped it down sealed everything and installed my turbo head button with a os p3 plug and so far so good i ran a tank and it temped around 200 with plenty of smoke and power and no lean bog

yea take that shim out if its fully broken in it could be causing low detonation.
