I'm with pitdog on this one. Losi has not shown any inclination to get the answers as to why people think the way they do about their cars. Xray put all the cars on the table and answered the fundamentals as to why the different cars handle the way they do. This is where they started the design process at.
So far it looks real nice. I'm sure there will be issues but what company doesn't have them.
I've ordered mine and can't wait to get a closer look.
That's no crap about JB. He is spot on tough in both buggy and truck.
Now I can say I have seen him against some of the best in the business. He is young and hungry with nothing to lose.
I just hope he gets his Worlds bid. He deserves it. Good luck JB.

Hunters Dad,
the 808 is awesome... looked great on the track.
Jason just made way fewer mistakes which let him lap the field like that... and on a 22 second track in a 30 minute main, every mistake cost A LOT!
But, look at Hunter... he was 3rd behind me running the EC and Rocco in 4th running the 808. Hunter had faster lap times than the other 808 there so i give more credit to the driver.
Now Steven Doggett with the Losi i think had the 2nd fastest lap of the main... so long story short, all the cars in the main were about the same speed overall...
All that being said, i plan on trying a 808. not cause i think it faster than my RC8... just to try something different... again... (i love this hobby) lol

But being that it was running a body ment for the losi answers alot. I didn't thing this car was going to be as narrow as the losi. It might be a bit wider than the losi , I'm only going in that direction because there were chassis rub marks on the side of the body from the test photos.
It would also be nice if they included the active diff with this kit.

quote from the Xray forum:
For the new 808 you can use the #355101 active diff for XT8 (where is the 43T spur gear) or you can use the #355100 active diff for XB8 but you have to purchase also the #355143 active diff spur gear 43T and replace the 40T spur gear.

Looks like an interesting chassis. In many respects a clone of the Losi, but they did also improve on some aspects, and credit must be given where credit is due. Price might be a hurdle, considering the ever-collapsing US dollar.
To be honest, aside from the slightly leaky shocks, the diff(icult) center diff access and the slop that develops in the steering, I'd *really* have to see a significant increase in performance or parts longevity to give up my 8ight for the Xray.
Also, in so much as the 808 mimmics many of the 8ight's physical characteristics, it might also display some of the same handling characteristics, which isn't necessarily a plus, as many people don't take too well to the 8ight's "nervous" handling. Time will tell.

Tex, Branham did get into the worlds, he found out a couple weeks ago I think!
Mizz, I was 6th after my flame, but right before that I was one corner away from 2nd, haha! If I had a little more than 20 minutes (2 runs) of practice and new tires, it would have changed my lap times up a bit, but none of that matters when your motor stops running!
It has big bore shocks and a similar steering/hub system as a Losi (which is the same as every 1/10th scale elec. 4wd) how is it so close to losi?

Rocco,
So he did get in.......Very cool. He is my underdog pick to make the show. If he keeps his head straight he could be at the top. He has beaten guys that I would not consider slouches!
Motors??? You have been fighting motor issues for a while. Get that stuff straightened out so you can get some track time.
I look forward to seeing the car.
Good Luck!

I wish I could run with you guys on Sunday at Cool Guys, but I have to ship all of my stuff toaday for Silverstate...
xlgraphicspro - Heck yeah! I had to snap a few before I put it on the track because it would never be like that again, haha! Unfortunately, I cannot post them......
