For what it's worth, parts support for the first Xray buggy has not dried up yet. It helps that many of the parts across the 3 versions that have been released so far compatible. The new car has very few, if any similar parts on it.

THe EC came out 1 year ago. However, you can still get replacement parts for the original XB8. Parts support shouldn't be an issue.

There have been two revisions of the XB8 before the basicall totally new XB8'08 platform came out. This spanned about 4 years time so I would think we will not see a total revamp for at least 3-4 years.

In 1-2 years you will be bored of your current vehicle anyway and want the next newest thing.

The diff pins are free floating to when a torque is applied to the crown gear it forces the diff cross pins into these grooved plates which come in contact with another set of plates keyed into the pin that goes through the outdrive. So on power, the diff is essentially a locked diff, and off power it acts like a normal diff, so essentially, the oil dictates the amount of off-power steering you want. So if you don't want it to be so twitchy, just run something like 10-20k in it! I ran 2k in mine with the EC and loved it on a smooth outdoor track, (but seriously, how often do you run on a smooth outdoor track?!)

Purely speculation but C'MON already !!!!!
The buggy should be out in about 2-3 weeks into April!

I realize few have the car, but I would like to know the dimensions of battery box. I am currently running a lipo in my RC8 that is 25mm wide. wondering if it would fit in the 808?

The radio box dims are:
Battery compartment - 20mm x 87mm x 32mm
Receiver compartment (usable) - 65mm x 40m x 24mm

Here's what my painted body looks like, but remember this is prototype and the final version may differ...

Holy pregnant guppies Batman!!

I actually think the chassis has a lot going for it but that bodyshell design simply HAS to go. Helpful hint: oval air filters allow for a more low-slung body. Just aesthetic bickering I know, but I figured I'd throw it out there anyway.

Looks quite promising thus far. Where and when are the 808s destined to make their racing debut?

Racing debut? Some of the team guys are already running them. Rocco is running his locally... the car looks REALLY good!

And if you don't like that body... I bet a Losi body (stock or aftermarket) would be a pretty close fit! That car is NARROW!!!!!
