the 5port has a massive bottom end, so there will be lots of wheels spin on low traction tracks making it hard to control the car out of the corners...the 7port has a big top end with not as much bottom as the 5port, so the wheel spin on low traction tracks will be alot less making the car easier to drive, and have much more consistant lap time...making the car more controlable will make for a faster lap time...

yes the only thing you need to change is the button...the shimming is the same between the standard and turbo...by going to the standard button you will loose a bit of power and run time...you can pick up a standard button anywhere Go engines are sold...if you cant find one pm me i have a few...

You can run the 5 port with an 053 pipe, 1.0 or 1.1 springs, and aluminum shoes at LH. Forget the Inside Jobs. Switch 2.0's or Losi Pink Tapers only.

what are the lap times on the track??? if they are very fast like 20 sec or less i would try a 053 pipe...i feel very strongly that the 053 and 086 pipes are the very best power makers as far as pipes go...also i would maybe even go with 1.1 clutch springs and do a lil testing with a 13 and 12 tooth clutch bell gears...i think the 12 tooth may work for you if the track is as high bite as you say...this is the set up im running on my tight high bite track, and the exceleration out of the corners and up to the jumps is unreal...

Lap times? Billy Easton pulled an 18.3 second lap but that's a freak lap. The very very fastest guys are pulling 19.3-20's with 20's and 21's the norm.
Actually, a 12t bell would be a good choice if a good one existed. Last week a guy did run one on a GO .28 and did very well.
Edit: Losi does make a 12T bell. I'm gonna give it a try...
