Very possible. When I first got the engine, I stripped the threads the first time I put in a glow plug and had to replace the button head before even starting up the engine. Ugh! That was over a year ago.

The engine was running just fine up until 2 races ago. The race prior to that, I burned a plug because of a blown exhaust gasket - and it was the last race of the day, so it didn't really matter. So 2 races ago, no matter what I tried, I couldn't get the idle to come down right away after being on throttle. While looking straight down at the engine, I noticed some fuel "percolating" around the base of the glow plug. I wiped it, put the plug back in and the same thing happend.

I know I have to replace the button head - just wondering if anyone had similar problems. I've never had problems like this with my other engines and IMO, the glow plug doesn't thread in as cleanly.

Just fyi - I am using this type of glow plug wrench:

I would suggest getting a new head button. Turbo head buttons get their seal from fit between the tip of the plug and the tapered portion of the head button. Each time you remove and install a plug, if there's even the slightest amount of dirt or imperfection in the tapered tip of the plug, it scratches the sealing surface of the head button. Eventually you just get too many imperfections in the head button and they won't seal. I change head buttons about four times a season for that reason alone.
