The tune was right as i do to all of my engines, nothing different on this one.
Tried three different glow plugs to see differences on this too but not much.
Temps were at around 110-120C(230-250F) on an 85F ambient temp running 25% nitro with 10% oil fuel.
It wasn't a top of the line engine. It had good power overall but i PERSONALLY prefer more torque on low rpm than a high revving one.
That's why i want to try out the 5 port.
I've seen a dyno graph from ebmods and looks the same as the v-specs.

I finally got a chance to see the Go Tech .28 in action in a truggy on Saturday at River City raceway in Peoria, IL. http://www.rivercityraceway.org/

That motor was crisp and powerful. It really looked good out there.

I am sure you will like the 5p more then vti, its has tons of bottom end. When I was intitially testing the 5p and 7p I had a similar experience with the 7p. At that time I liked the 5p more then the 7p in buggy. But after playing around with the pipe venturi and clutch I found out that I ended up liking the 7p more in buggy, but I also race at a very large track and I ran it in a x-ray which is similar to a losi in being a little loose on power, so the softer bottom helped.

As far as the engine goes I ran a v-spec recently and It felt even softer to me than my 7port, The owner of the engine said the tune was slightly off. So I would not give up on the 7p just yet. The jp pipes have a tendancy to choke the go engines and you have to be careful that the LSN is not lean because it can lean bog easily. If you run in a more planted buggy you may just like the bottom power of a 5p. Not trying to say you had yours tuned wrong just trying to help.

The 7p is a mid range and top end engine by placing a bottom end pipe on it you are choking the engine where it makes its best power.

depend on break-in procedure 1.5 gallon of fuel may not be enough to fully break-in the engine so it may still not making 100% power.
i had the same problem when the engine was new.

I was at the LHS today and the owner Dwayne gave Race Factor a call to order my motors. They are out of 5 ports but will have some more in stock within a week or so.

SO. I have a 7 port turbo coming my way and a 5 port for my little bro on back order. I didn't want to get him the 7 port because I don't think he can handle the top end. WOT are his 3 favorite letters.

I also ordered him a Dynamite 5005 pipe for him and a JP3 for myself.

also bought another glow plug for my current Force POS to foul. I need the GoTech asap.

Hi guys! I used to run 25% on my .28 red head then I switched to 30%. Do I need to change the shims on my engine (add 1?) or do I just need to re-tune it? Thanks in advance.

Snookums. You shouldn't need to re shim just retune.

Salteen the engines are just on back order, they will be available soon. They are just selling to fast.

I haven't bought it yet so i'm open to all options.
The 7 port i got from a friend of mine just to test it but i can't find any 5 ports around to check them so i guess i'll have to buy it and see how it goes.

I was running the standard button head.

I intend to get the 5 port with turbo head since i prefer turbo plugs and engines in general but i'm waiting for more feedback on the differences on the two(5-7port) engines before i go for it!!!

I also want to know about the 9901 if it will work on the GO.
My brother uses it on his V-spec and gets 10min runtimes on race conditions when the JP-1 only gives him around 8mins.

053 for 7port and 086 for 5port.

Never tried the 9901 Vti So I couldn't give you any feedback on that.

Default Plug type

Ok, I have been reading this thread for a couple of months now and I finally pulled the trigger, I have a 5 port Turbo and a HN2047 pipe coming. WHat is the recommended turbo plug for this motor?

I am currently running a EB Mods Vspec and a JP Mods B5. I am anxious to compare the Go. If it is anywhere near the performance of my current motors I will be ecstatic. I realize my current motors are mods and the GO isnt, so I dont expect the same performance. I just want to see how close it can come for 1/2 the price.
