As bad as it seems Daniele is still working on the site. I will have our site up in I think 5 more days with all the support for the engine line here in the U.S. Just has taken longer then expected. Check www.teamxspower.com in a few days we should have switched the site by then.

The .12 engine is good. I ran it at the Great Lakes Challenge. The most launch I have ever experienced. I had to change my entire clutch to make it work. Very good top speed and great fuel economy.

Can you share your clutch, gearing and track surface? I've had this engine for a few weeks now and my home track is permanently unusable so I would like to have at least a decent starting point before a large race coming up on the very first weekend it's available.

I ran the Kyosho 3d clutch with the stock weights and the grey shoe. I used the Kyosho FMW16 spring compressed about .9mm below the crank end. I ran the tallest pinions 17/23 with the 55/60 spurs. The track had very good grip.

Thats what I ran. Only diff was I used a Orion square wire spring.

I have to agree Scott. I was duly impressed with the out of the box haul azz these have. There as fast as any of my best hand modified motors.

Unfortunatly my radio was not nearly as cooperative as my engine was over the weekend.

have any of you had luck with the 2617 pipe? I tried it today and my track seems too tight and the engine kept getting too low in the rpm to be useful.

I have not tried the 2617 pipe. Only the 2607.

The power band on the 2617 pipe is real short and comes on fast. It is a real short pipe. if your track is to small it may not be the pipe of choice for that application. Remember that the shorter the pipe the "more top end" you will get to faster and the less lower end you will have. The longer the smoother the power band and the longer the transition from the low to mid to high. A nice long "linear' curve you will have.

That was exactly my experience with it, but my track is fairly tight with enough low speed corners that it fell out of the powerband in 3-4 corners so I went back to the 2607 to put the tq down by 8 seconds at the southwest series race but a dogbone took me out at the 20 minute mark with a 16 second lead on 2nd place.

The IDM evo3 performed extremely well this weekend, it was more than a match for SL3's and 353's except for the first 5 minutes in the main. Some how these drivers were gaining 5 feet on me in the straight until after the first pit stop and then I was back to pulling them, guess they started off a bit too lean to run for 30 minutes.

Default clutch setup for IDM

Just wanted to give a basline clutch setup for the IDM .12 in a MTX4:

flyweights drilled out to 4mm
MSR clutch spring
yellow clutch shoe
clutch nut 0.9mm from end of crank shaft
0.3mm gap

I have only tested the 2607 pipe so far.

I ran my .21 IDM on-road motor again this past weekend. It continues to perform great and have a consistent tune. Several racers (and even a couple spectators) commented about it's performance as well. Don't be afraid to give the IDM's a try !!

Brian ~ Just curious: What size tires did you start off with and what size were they after 30 minutes?
