What you meane with ''new style''?
The 2006 model??
Or is it just a piston/sleeve with a little tweak to it?

Try browse few pages back. You will find pictures of JP new style, especially the piston and underhead. Incredible power.

Hello,

i´m looking forward to buy me the JP FX 12 T-03 and I have a few questions.

1. What is the main diffrent of the ceramic and standard ball bearing
2. Which kind of pipe do you use? A short or a long one?

best regards

From my experience the difference in performance isn't noticeable, well at least for me. The main difference is it's longetivity and tuning consistancy. Best just use JP or Nova Turbo pipe for overall performance. Choosing pipe for different shape, bigger, long, short, diam of the stinger, etc only when you have to follow the rules, the track layout or when u just want something specific from your engine performance.

What is power band difference between long pipe ( JP, Novarossi pipes ) vs short pipe ( Mugen pipe ) ? EFRA 5.4mm stinger vs Turbo 6mm stinger ?

Am I correct to say these ??

Long pipe = more power from bottom to upper mid = acceleration.
Short pipe = more rpm at top speed but less power at bottom = top speed

5.4mm stinger = more fuel economy, more acceleration
6.0mm stinger = less fuel economy, more top speed

the description between short and long pipe is correct.
but you can´t use every pipe on every engines. i have made the experience that for example, on the 2.11 12T3 IDM engines only long pipes works.
about the stinger, 6mm is not allowed here in germany.
at the moment i use the long Team Magic Pipe with 5mm stinger on a IDM 12T3 engines and it works really good.

about the the longetivity of the ceramic ball, is it so much longer than the normal one that you are ready to spent more money for it?

regards

I am sure it wont happen, but it would be cool if they made an upgrade kit with the new button, p/s and crankshaft for the new to3. Does anyone know where the parts for the new version are available online?

Mark,
You need to add a 0.10 shim. You may be alright without it, if you have been running the motor with 30% pull the head off and check out the button to make sure it's not pitting. If pitting is present, a shim is needed. Good luck

What is optimal head shim to run with 30%? I was running .22 in my X12. Should it be similar for this engine? It is the modified motor.
