what is the consensus on the new 'worlds' parts for the car? meaning, how do they feel vs the kit parts.

Just fitted the laydown servo mount here, not had chance to run it but it's a bit difficult getting the servos screws in. I have to revised Aerox servo arm and just need to lightly Dremel away the under side of the top plate for clearance, a bit like the b6.4.

Feedback I have received from others that have run it, is it slightly less positive on initial turn in. Will see what it's like when I hit the track next time out.

I spoke to Schumacher about this as the servo arms supplied looked like the Cat PB one and they confirmed it was and thus the Aerox AX123 will fit. I have ordered one and I'll let you know once I fit it.

Had a short test session with the flat servo mount yesterday, I didn't back to back it but it feels much smoother transitioning from straight ahead to turning, and then taking off lock to straighten ahead. Made the car very smooth and easy to place on the track.

I’m interested in trying out an LD3 for 17.5 stock racing on indoor clay that is medium to high grip. Is the LD3M the best chassis to go with for this application? Thanks

Compared to the stock LD3 transmission and front bottom plate (U8188), are the transmission conversion (U9415) and worlds flat servo conversion (with alloy bottom plate (U9452)) more durable?

Are there any problems with gear mesh or loose tolerances with the transmission conversion?

I think the alloy servo mount is more rigid, but I imagine in the event of a very heavy front end crash is it going bend a bit rather than snapping.

The gearbox I think is very rigid as it's one piece and metal. The middle smaller idler gear looks (waiting for it to arrive this week) to be alloy so should help with weak idler gear issues of the B7 issues.

But really too early to tell on either issues for most.

Did you dremel the chassis as the instructions suggest for low roll centre settings?

It looks like Ben Stephenson has taken a fair bit of material off his chassis. So much so the countersunk part of the outer hole is beyond the edge of the chassis.

Actually those holes a pretty close to the edge on the kit setup.

Isn't the point of a chassis protector to keep the screws from backing out and tearing the carpet up.....

No, it just protects the chassis from scratches and I like the way it looks.

It can do all of these things. But it doesn't have to keep screws in.
