I just got my LD3M in the mail the other day along with the new esc and motor. Still mwaiting on bearings and turnbuckles before i start putting it together. Still deciding on what servo to run also. Im also looking for some other parts as well

I think they are just low stock. A lot of wear and tear parts are on back order like diff and shock rebuild kits. It happens since everything is based out of the UK.
The LD3 just came out but maybe a new L1R?
also in my opinion best under $100 servo is NSDRC ss400. Used to be called the rs400

Anyone know what these holes on the rear hubs do besides shorten or lengthen the hub? Seems like it makes the cambers link either straighter or more angled. What effect does that have? All I mostly see is what changes by making the links longer by either lengthening by physically making them longer or taller/shorter on the back studs. Nothing about angling

The ld3 isn't since it's only just over a year old and I talked to Daniel Chavez at the Cleveland indoor offroad Champs if they're coming out with a new 4wd since they're usually on 2 year cycles for cars and the 4wd is past it's date and he said he doesn't see anything happening soon

no idea about OOS for the LD3... but I ran mine for a pretty intense practice session on low-grip carpet saturday. For the first time I was able to do this back to back with my former SWB B6.4 carpet car (now my son's who upgraded from my former-former B6.1) with similar electronics (Xerun Pro G2, S15, M17, the B6.4 had a 7.5T and the LD3 a 6.5T and runs on an MT-S), and similar tires (cactus and lopro stagger - both 7 packs already) and similar batts. Both of them are rather well setup for the conditions and regular A-mainers at the events.
Key conclusion is that the LD3 turns, while the B6.4 understeers. When I went from the AE to the Schum, the front end was a revelation. However one has to stay close to the steering wheel on the LD3, which reacts faster that the B6.4 (Don't tell me it's the FH5 vs. FH4 of the radios, I won't believe you
). Interestingly, my son said, as he drove my LD3 "woah your car has so much grip" while I though *his* car had more grip...
I was able to run marginally faster lap times with my LD3, a tenth or so faster than the AE. The driving feeling is very different though; What I really like about the LD3 is how the driver can "correct" the car in the turn, because it is so much more front-end biased than the B6.4, which is like a tanker boat once engaged in the turn. However it is a lot more forgiving, which will be great for my 15y.o. who still can be a bit "enthusiastic" behind the radio.
One thing i disliked about the LD3 is how much slop it develops... It's just as bad as the AE
and given that these stupid axles are not 3.0mm it cannot be fixed with the run-of-the-mills shims I have in my pitbox.
Next race is Jan 25th - Will report.

I find the steering gets a lot of slop if one screw gets a little loose. Once everything gets tightened up again, the slop mostly goes away. Even with orange lock Tite. :/. Also the hubs have some slop built in. The aluminum spacers leave about a mm of play.

Agree with the slop in the steering assembly coming from loose screws (typically around bellcranks). I am more concerned by the slop in the rear suspension, esp. arms (less so with hubs)

New to the sport. I am looking at getting the JC Concepts Smoothie 2 2.2" (Silver) front and rear tires. What is the difference between these and the Low Profile option? Are either better for different conditions or is it mostly preference?
Also, I am looking at which spring kit for shocks I should get so I can try some different stiffness levels of springs. Any spring kit suggestions? Or if I went the route of getting new shocks altogether, what shocks work good for indoor clay track with small/medium size jumps should I consider buying?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,

Stock LD3 shocks will work fine, 1up makes a nice 13mm spring kit but requires associated (or similar) 13mm lower spring retainers.
