Theres a lot of upgrades out for the LD3 - hopefully they will realise an LD4 soon that includes some of these!

There will not come a LD4. These are the news from EOS in Daun.

So does that mean, if I decide to buy one, they wont pull an Associated and release a LD3.1 or LD4 2 weeks after I buy it?

Default PB Rear Hubs on Astro

Does anybody have any experience of running the PB rear hubs on dry astro. I see they are using them on carpet and I don't like the faff of changing the ld hub inserts, also fancy trying UJ driveshafts - so thought I might try both at the same time as the pb hubs need the PB driveshafts.

My only concern is the pb hubs are narrower and I prefer the H hub inserts (wide) in the dry to provide more on power steering compared to the M hub (narrow) set. As you run a wider hex for the narrower hubs (in my mind the distance from the wheel face to the outer wishbone pivot is the same)is it just the top link length that is really changing?

Thanks.

Everyone I have asked believes there won't be a new car until Sept 2026 as there is usually a year between 4wd and 2wd new cars. But who knows.

That's the thing with Schumacher - they don't faff about pre announcing stuff or doing long build ups. They just say "Here's a new car, all the dealers will have stock in a couple of days, job done"

Hopefully whatever comes next in 2WD will have the rear pill system from the CAT PB and an improvement to the front kickup plate (or a one piece chassis with kickup).

5 gear (or 3 gear with a massive idler gear) would be nice on carpet car, but I'd expect it to be moulded plastic rather than the new 3D printed aluminium one.

I pray they will ship a car with better shock caps - it's the first thing I have to swap on every Schumacher.

I see them coming out like last time with a Storm 3, to work out the bugs before the LD4 come out. Would love to see a Dirt and Carpet for the Storm. if they can come out with the stiffer arms that would be very nice.

Really hard to fit a fan with the 5 gear trans. Had my battery back one notch before and the fan hit the battery and the motor.

Had to do a double take, that slipper spring looked so weird tightened all the way down, couldn't figure out if that was part of the gearbox case or not.

An ST2 topshaft will take care of that

For those that have tried the new 5 gear transmission, what are your thoughts compared to the 3 gear?

I am curious about the 5 gear as well. Especially with 17.5.

Tried it for a while on carpet/17.5, felt more edgy but the LD3 felt a little smoother. But you would need to change your whole set up IMO. Super pricey for what it is…
