Tekin won't add autodetect because a dead 4s lipo (12-13V volts) looks alike a charged 3s pack (12.6 volts). That's just a liability they don't want to accept. The overlap is even worse with 5 and 6s packs. Auto voltage is definitely convenient for free running with various packs, but since Tekin's target market is racing, the vehicle it is in will rarely see a different voltage. Even then, you can change the voltage cutoff with the buttons right on the esc very quickly.

The KV limitations are for specific motor sizes. If you are running a short course size motor, you can definitely run a higher KV rating than a Truggy/8th scale size motor. Used to be easy to say "9 turn motor limit" when RC motors were all the same size. Now they are all over the place and their current demands are as well. Just a KV doesn't tell you the whole story about the esc being capable of handling it.

i had a simler issue were i lost 2 wires on my sencor wire. it was a real head tuner. pulled it off the track looked close. and sure enoff.

Check your sensor harness first to assure the sensors are reporting back to the ESC. What radio system?

I was having a hard time programming an RX8 G3 with an older hot wire. Then I got the 3.0 and problem solved. I didn't want to get the 3.0, but now I am so glad I did as it can eliminate some travel gear now.

What the max temp that the 1900kv T8 V3 4030 (buggy) motor should get? The weather temps are going up right now and I noticed my motor coming off the track at 74°C (165°F) after a 12 minute main.
I'm running an MBX8 with 16/46 gearing. 1 month ago I was able to do practice sessions about 15min and the motor never exceeded 63°C (145°F), but the outside temps went up by 15°C now.
I'm wondering if this still safe for my motor or should I change something? The temp was meassured with an IR temp meter on the outside of the motor can.

Nothing wrong with 74°C after 12 minutes. The motor is good to around 100°C without any risk of damage. As long as I'm under 80°C after a hard race, I don't worry about it. The motor temps will increase fairly linearly with outside temps; if it goes up another 15°C, so will the motor.

100°C on the outside of the can. Take several measurements from one end of the motor to the other and go with the hottest temp you see. The data logging should roughly match the can, but its only taking the temp at one end of the motor and the circuit board it is on can insulate it a bit from quick temperature changes in the windings. Check the data logging graph to see if the motor temp levels off after 5-8 minutes or if it keeps climbing the entire run. That's more what I like to use the data logging for. You should see the temps quickly climb the first 2-4 minutes, start to level off between 3 and 8 minutes, and then stay fairly constant the rest of the run.
