Tekin Rx8 Gen3 Thread

I saw the same switch for one of my other hobbies and I don't like it. A forum is much easier to read, follow and to search on.
Btw, could you explain me what difference is between the gen 2 and gen 3 T8 buggy motors? I live in Europe and all the combo that are sold are still with a gen 2 motor. Some sell the gen 3 motor seperatly, but then it gets really expensive. I'd like to know if the changes justify the extra cost, but there isn't a lot of info about new motors that I can find.

i drive at home, on my track. rc is fine i think, forums are dead, sad because they are far superior to social media groups.
gen 3 motor vs gen 2 , they have a stronger rotor and a difference in the stack design. MK Racing has gen3 combo's.

Another shop in Germany is offering the MBX8 eco + Tekin combo for 950euro's, but it's a gen 2 motor (RX8 is gen 3). That's a great deal, but I'm not sure about the motor.
Is the Gen 3 motor that much better?

they should run cooler, but if you like a very free running car off-power then you will need to run push control.

First time tekin RX8, best features for bashers?
Hi all, trying out my first tekin esc (rx8) after many many years of using only Castle escs.
Are there any features you particularly like using for general purpose off road bashing and jumping?
For the moment I do not have a sensored motor (this will be paired with a Cordova Research sensorless motor) so that might limit my choices.
I am used to the usual features from Castle like throttle/brake curves, punch control, torque/current limiting, drag brake, etc. Anything else I should try out with the Tekin?

Yeah that might be helpful
Currently the tekin rx8 is installed in a Slash 4x4 with an aftermarket aluminum chassis. In that vehicle it will run on 4s with a long can 550 motor.
It might move over to a tekno et48 on 6s with TPPower 4050.
If you have suggestions for either of those that would be great.

The rx8 Gen3 has limits on motor kv. 3500kv on 4s. 1700kv on 6s.
The esc may handle higher kv but gearing options seem to be a limiting factor as the higher the kv the smaller pinion with some variation of spur plus or minus a few teeth.
I doubt a tekin rx8 can handle a very high kv motor at 6s because you wouldn’t be able to gear it low enough.
The tekin rx8 Gen3 has a few throttle curves and timing preset to experiment with.
