Tekno RC ET410 Thread

I got the 22 tooth today and all I can say is wow! I am using a 22T 32P 5MM pinion on a Tekin Pro4 and RSX. It was really amazing seeing how fast it was going. I plan to race this weekend and feeling very confident.

I struggled with the steering being to fast and yanked the Futaba out, and put in a JR Z9000T servo in it.It is slow but feels great and now very predictable. I also was able to turn up the servo speed to 100% on the radio. Took the front shafts out, and sure enough the right side was bent. Took a hammer to it and good as new. A friend (Zach Noia)showed me how to move the rear camber linkage to the outside and readjust the camber. It was night and day in performance, way more stable.

doesn’t the motor mount stick out of the chassis and get in the way of the body with a pinion this large? 18T on my 4300kv seems to be the sweet spot at my local indoor clay track with 150ft straights.

I use a 540 4600 Pro 4 motor and 22 works great for some reason. I had a 24 in there but it ran too hot and everything got to warm, plus it had no acceleration at all. The 22 seems to have the best going for it. The 21 had faster acceleration, but I want more top end. The 24 was a tight fit also, not good, but worth a try. I have to remover the bottom motor mount slider screw to install the pinion. I also had to do some dremel work to the motor mount to get to the pinion set screw.

You can fit a wrench into the pinion screw, at a certain angle. There is a notch. It is about from the Pan, up to the Pinion. Sometimes I put the pinion on, before I slide the motor bracket in.

For those wanting to use the SCT wheels and still have a wider stance like ST wheels provide then check out Exotek +3mm hexes. They also have a +2mm version.
