My kid broke the caster block and steering block in one go, slamming into a stationary object (luckily not my leg). The lesson about looking ahead was... Partly learned. I ordered from RCPlanet. I think shipping was around 6-7 bucks, though it is free if you break $100 worth of stuff at once - Kinda hard to do that with this car especially since it's brand new and not filled with fast blue parts.

Speaking of, while I used to be all over "hop ups" (that's part of the fun, isn't it?), this little thing really goes and goes well, thanks to the 4wd and handling and...

This may be a cardinal sin to type but it doesn't seem like it needs to be messed with... Just replace the occasional busted arm and keep the shocks and diffs lubed and you're good to go. Again, blasphemy, but it's a tribute to the really good package AE has put together. Really fun little car!

I let my four year old niece drive it, she took it full speed straight on into a wall, quick glance nothing seems broken, alignment seems wacked out though, steering seems lose, Any recommendation to get to the both of it, I'm going to pull apart the front end look for issues. I have some old rc alignment tools I have to find, i'm not even sure how to use them.

Why don't the diffs have fluid out of the factory? Is it to sell diff fluid?

I haven't owned an RC since the late 90s (Jr-T and a 4wd Kyosho buggy), but my awesome wife got me a Reflex 14T last week. It is head and shoulders above the stuff that I drove years ago in most ways. I have noticed, though, that getting it into reverse is a bit glitchy most of the time and I've tried to trouble shoot what is causing it, but haven't gotten anywhere. Forward seems pretty predictable (though speed transitions aren't exactly smooth) and pressing the trigger forward to brake seems to work most of the time, but I can sometimes press the trigger forward several times in a row from a complete stop and nothing happens. It seems like if I adjust the throttle trim on the radio to a be strongly biased to reverse, it will be more likely to respond.

Anyone else experience this? I'm trying to figure out if it is a radio issue or an ESC issue, or if it is something faulty on my copy of the electronics or if it is simply how it works for everyone.

I've heard its to avoid leakages during shipping, but the shocks have oil in them so I don't know exactly. I know its not uncommon for kits that are shipped overseas or from overseas to not include fluids.

I guess I wonder if the diff is suppose to function as a limited slip with the fluid inside as opposed to an open diff without fluid. I have get to fill my diff to feel the difference. Hope it is relatively straight-forward.

imo the best thing about this truck is the tuneability.. going from stock diffs to filling them with AE diff fluid really made a big difference in the control of the car. of course, different tracks need different tuning. the 14t/b can be tuned much like its big brothers

stock they have a little grease but no fluid.

its kinda a PITA to remove all three but that might just be the noob in me. you take off the rear control arms, rear shock tower, diff cover (which also locks the motor in place, ESC, servo arm and a couple parts of the front suspension. the whole driveline basically comes straight out once those parts are gone.

Hello, I'm new here and have been away from RC's for a couple of decades (Last owned a JR-T and 4wd Kyosho buggy in the late 90s). I got a Reflex 14T as a gift from my wife recently and have been messing around with it some.

I've noticed that it seems really inconsistent about activating reverse. I can push the throttle forward to brake pretty consistently, but sometimes I can push the trigger forward from a stand still over and over and nothing happens. It seems like if I adjust the throttle trim on the radio to a strong bias towards reverse, it is more prone to drive in reverse then. I'm trying to trouble shoot if this is a radio issue, the ESC, or just the nature of this setup (which would be disappointing). Anyone else experience this? Any advice?

100% agree with you. The car is a beast out the box, compared to my mini 8 which I have tons of upgrades and the 14b craps all over it. Fill thE diffs to your liking and your set!

So I decided to run in the rain, bad idea. Water went in the rear diff case. The muddy water dried up and ruined my pinion, the ring gear wasn't bad at all. But will still be replaced. Keep an eye out if you will be running in a wet dirt with puddles. This thing was over due for something to break as it has held up great.


Not bad still, these plastic gears are ovverral great.

So today I tried out the ESC mounted on to the actual chassis itself (excuse the messy wiring) much more entry steering and out! Car feels a lot more aggressive on steering input, its much more quicker in the corners. I would definitely give this a go if you're looking for more corner speed..

i cant get over how fun this truggy is to drive. ive got it pretty dialed and its clearing my doubles by about 10 feet if i get a good corner leading in. its super fast and responsive for the size. i havnt not broke any parts other then stripping gears which is my fault in over 20 packs of bashing. AE, time to make me some upgrades.

i would try the ESC relocate but my 2250 3s is to big to allow it.

Yeah it is a blast to drive and is impressive for its size. The motor in my servo crapped out on mine. Got my new one in today, shortly after I ordered it I noticed I could have got the metal geared version of the servo off riptide racing for cheaper. Batan D135F
