everytime i install a new spur gear it runs awesome for about 3 minutes then strips... what am i doing wrong. it feels like the spur gear is never center. like if i roll gears after i set the mess its tighter on one section of the rotation and looser on others (by a small amount).
i was just doing gentle laps in the basement, hit reverse, forward again, and stripped.

It's odd that the gear fit varies on one side of the gear versus the other... That seems indicative of a malformed spur gear. Any chance you have calipers and can check the roundness?

ive ordered 3 spur gears. i stripped the orginal, installed the 70 which stripped, then ordered a new 70, installed it, stripped it. i have one stock one left that is also brand new from a main? im thinking maybe one of the bearings it sits on is out of true or maybe its the motor shaft that could be bent? yes pinion is stock and this is on the 2250 100c battery

i had time to take it apart again this afternoon. i gave a close inspection to the parts and the female part of the driveshaft connection is out of true. (the center diff outdrive). when i spin the diff sitting in place in the chasis i can see the outdrive wobble a bit which causes the spur gear to wobble as well. i set the mesh to as tight as possible on the tightest part of the spur and let it be a bit loose on theother parts. to my surprise the spur was not stripped, the motor must have been in the mount poorly and the reverse to forward direction change must have popped it slightly loose. i also noticed my diff cover was not well seated so that would have gave it some potential play. i put it all back togather and just tested it for 5 min in the basement and it seems to be working pretty well despite the drivetrain wobble.

another new 14b owner here, i have a large collection i dont run, bought the 14b to get my son into the hobby but it has me rekindling my interest. I am just waiting for hop up parts to be released. I have never ran a lipo or brushless motor so im a nob. Bought on back order a Associated WolfPack LiPo 3S 11.1V 4500mAh 35c , but after reading some posts and not being certain i can run a 3s battery . and the size fitting i cancelled the order.
still looking for a wheel tire combo to replace the stock setup.

my track was in awesome condition. had to turn the throttle down to half to even have a chance. car is driving and handling well. this was the first time it ran long enough to really test the diff fluid and it is SOOOO much more controlled to drive then before i added fluid. (2000 front, 5000 center, 2000 rear i think is what i did)
i love how the berms collected the melt slowly and then it frooze into perfectly level flat sections.

let my five year old drive, and the 14b took a big hit, servo saver spring disappeared.. Associated didn't have any in stock.. had to order from tower hobbies.. shipping cost was high but I guess that is how they make their money
