Ive had both engines
The Quality on the X12 is much better
The FX hard black coating was brown on my engine and the carb doesnt have a logo on it
The JP X12 is very vey quick the FX is also quick but i have found that the X12 is an alround better motor imo.
They cost about the same i beleive

Have any of you experienced with this? Whats behind this idea? What is he want to achieve for its power?

Putting the shim under the sleeve will increase exhaust and transfer timing. It calleds "field modding". It is not working all the time-in both ( exhaust and transfer events ) it will be encrease equaly, but it is not always right.
Chnages are about 0.1 mm shiming is equal 2 degree of timing on 12 engines ( strock 14 mm and rod 25mm), if strock or rod is different, that will be different. So for Novas based engines .1mm shim-2 degree timing. If anybody needs this numbers, please give your's engines data and I will give you how much timing will chnge with .1mm shimming.

I know that some people thinks this is a dumb question, but i was wondering for drag racing which engine is faster. I know that the Os does not compare to jp material wise but my main concern is if the Os is just as fast why spend 450$ on Jp? Remember i drag race so i could careless how long it last. The only thing that matters is winning. Any input will help. Thanks
