A note to those of you updating. The 509 software is only legal in the XR-10 putting it in the old Juststock, V2's or any other Hobbywing ESC makes them illegal at sanctioned events that require ROAR compliance. It is an easy check, just plug in a programmer.
On the Roar approved ESC list it says N/A under software version. For the extreme stock and v2.1 ESCs it specifies 508. It looks to me that 509 is legal in the justock. If not ROAR needs to change its approval list.

You are right about that. I believe ROAR missed this possibility. Oh well, go at it boys (On the Juststock that is).
One thing I noticed when I had my computer hooked up to the older 2.1 esc, is that there is no option in the drop down box to install 509, the only one that is there is 508. Has anyone else tried to put 509 onto a xtreme stock or 2.1 esc?
I suspect that 509 is locked in to the XR10 & Justock esc's only.
Anyway, replaced a older 2.1 esc with a Justock in a touring car, and I'm impressed. The Justock felt like it gave the car more grunt, and the motor ran cooler, with ambient temperature around 34C (98F?).
And it takes up waaaaay less space than the 2.1

Cheers
