Has anyone tried ceramic bearings on the Serpent buggy? What's the pro and cons on running them for off-Road??

What are the benefits/drawbacks of the webbed shock bladders?

Default 811 be rtr 2.0

Must say i'm very pleased with it now that it has 2.0 diffs, 2.0 rear suspension and threaded shocks!
What was a good value rtr is now a great value rtr

I do have one question though, it has a 46t center spur and an 18t pinion. I was hoping to put a 16t on for the warmer months if needed.
Only issue is that the motor is just barely off the chassis now!
How are guy's fitting down to 15t pinions?
I know the kit chassis has milling work under where the motor sits but i cant see it allowing that much more room to move.
Where abouts did you get this set up, the only ones I can see ( walters rc) have the clips on the shocks, they do advertise a 2015 model but pictures are still the same, and for illistation puposes only, or did you end up with a 811 be rtr and the 2.0 update parts you mentioned earlier, does a 2.0 rtr exist

Pretty much a waste of money. Stock with the Avid 1.00 bearings. Youll have to replace the outer rear wheel bearing every few races but the rest of the bearing should last a decent amount of time as long as you dont spray down your car with simple green and a hose or air.

They seem to land better and keep the buggy riding higher in the stroke. At the same time they dont seem to go through the bumps as well and you have to keep tabs on your shock rebound because it changes more with temperature changes. They are also a little more difficult to bleed the shocks when they get swollen because they cover the little hole in the cap from the oil getting out.

With that said I use them in my truggy most of the time and like them but also keep an eye on them with the temp changes.

I have searched the thread some and it seems like there are setups for the older versions; is there a location for setups for us outdoor tracks?

Which version of buggy do you have? What kind of track, large, small technical, wide open, loose, bumpy, smooth, high traction, etc?

The biggest set up change I can make are tires. Yes, I do make shock oil and spring changes for smooth verses bumpy tracks.

I have the 2.1 (new to me). I raced it last night on a track that has medium traction, medium sized and somewhat technical. I'm running 10/12/10 in the diffs right now and it seems to be pretty good although I would like a little more on power traction out of the rear after landing a jump. I have a few things to experiment with on my next practice day, but was looking for what folks are running to try to compare and get some ideas.

It was first time driving it after coming from an 7R ECO and it only took a couple of laps to get settled and run my ECO times, so I feel like that is a good thing. I felt like I could push it when I needed to without it getting out of shape, which is my main reason for moving from the ECO. I do have to get comfortable with putting the stick to this thing like I hadn't in the ECO.

mostly duplicates here, but a few more http://www.petitrc.com/setup/serpent...entS811BE.html
