Secondly, try putting the O-ring on like Such (below). This will put some downward force on the battery.

Hope this helps!
I didn't think about putting the wire under it. But even then the battery still slides side to side. The end where the tubes are to attach the plugs sits completely under the plate. With the plugs in it wouldn't slide as far, but I still don't like it sliding around.

I did end up using CRC o-rings. They seem to fit better. But I like the idea of using the hair things. With a wife and two daughters, I'm sure there are plenty around the house. And, if they're pink, that will make me faster, right?

I guess I was more talking about not using the front "slot" in the brace, instead, wrap the o-ring around the outside of the brace at the front. Get what I'm saying?

If Pink is your thing, go for it!

I'll give that a try. I still think it's going to move side to side too much. But I'll try it and see.

Some double sided tape on the bottom of the battery along with the o-ring done in S. Stew's photo should keep things nice and tight.

Get some lower standoffs or just tape the battery in. I know TQRacing sells standoffs of different height to lower the plate and let the oring fit tighter over the battery.

I would ditch the whole o-ring idea and just tape the battery in place if it were me. As for the spring retainers and screws, I assume it is the same ones he uses in the RSD RR12 kit. They are larger. But he made the holes in the carbon small so you can use your own if you wanted. Like me, I used the xray screws and holders, they are smaller screws. I prefer them cause they hold the springs better in my opinion. If not, you should drill them out a bit to fit the ones in the kit. The ones in the RR12 kit are meant to run the springs upside down or run straight ones. He also moved the body post to get them out of the rear bends in a lot of the current bodies. It always seemed that that damn bend was right where the body post sat.

The problem with tape is the battery still moves side to side. I thought about some different height standoffs but I haven't ordered them yet. Right now a couple small squares of servo tape are doing a good job of holding it in place.

Try this to keep your battery from moving.

Just add thin double stick tape.. No more movement!

When i was asking about using the rear 12r5.2 clip and mount it to the 12r5 chassis that just has the transverse battery position. I wasnt asking about an after market or other company to make the rear pod I was talking about using all associated parts bought seperately.
Wondering if its a direct fit.
The only thing I cant know for sure is the shock location. It looks like the shock is more forward on the 12r5.2. I wonder if it would be just redrilling the hole were the shock ball stud mounts to the rear pod plate.

Not sure if all other geometry is correct also.

Just use a longer/shorter ball cup for the shock.

You can actually do that with a 12R5.2 just like it is. You may need to change the front shock mount plate out to just a standoff with a ball stud on top because the plate will leave you less room for the electronics.

I ran my car like that for a little bit. But I ended up getting the Reflex kit just because I felt like the battery would be a little more secure.

I dont have the 12r5.2 I have the 12r5 or 5.1 not sure. I just want to know if I can buy all the associated 5.2 rear pod parts and bolt it to the older 12r5 chassis. I can get the parts cheap if its not a hassle i want to go that way. Dont think I will need the inline setup....

The RSD upgrade will be next when I can afford it...
