What radio and receiever are you using. That is useful info when talking about brownouts.

Casper is right, we need to know what radio system you're using?

Most of the brown outs I see are an issue between the servo load and the receiver. A SPM1600 spektrum cap can fix most issues.

On the Gen2 if you're using an HV servo make sure you crank up your BEC to the 7.4v setting. I also suggest assuring your receiver can handle 7.4v as some of the "sport" ones cannot.

I run that with the 7. 4 volts no problem with the volts drop on mine and I use a 2274 savox. At randy this past weekend I had a team drive set up my esc he tuned down a bunch of stuff in it. We hooked up a 23 like you said bad deal that turned out to be. My dean plugs like melted together. In like 2 minutes so we went back to the 19 it made it 6 minutes and 49 seconds before it shut down. So he is saying use a 17 for the car. He think it just reving on the straight to much. The straight is 180 feet about and with the 19 8 can climb pazt that easy and still get speed. So mybe over geared on the straight. He is not a tekin drive but does run tekin. He is an xray team drive. We got zome lousi guy coming out this coming weekend also. There is one other guy at might track that seem to have the same trouble as me with a different car completely and spectrum radio gear for his. We are trying everything we are told as a team. Any more input would be great.

Did you lose throttle and steering or just throttle? I had a similar issue where I lost throttle (Tekno SCT410, HW SCT-Pro, xerun 3656sd 4700kv) with plenty of battery left (so it wasn't the LVC since my 4pls gave me the current voltage). I was trying to determine max gearing (had an 18t pinion with punch set to 5), and the motor was not overheating. Problem went away when I went back down to standard gearing (15-16t). Still not sure what the problem was exactly since it was not motor temp, esc temp, or LVC. I can only guess that it was trying to suck too much power from my 2s pack (which was a pro match 90c 6000mah). So I'm definitely curious as to what others may think is the issue.

I mainly notice it with throttle. Its done it once at the start tone and also over the big triple in mid air.

This is the Ve8 buggy right? I ran that car and know what gearing should be in it, trust me. You're going too far with your gearing "changes" in general.

The Ve8 is a car with a 50T Spur and 4.3 diff ratio. So with my suggested gearing of a 23T pinion, 50T spur and 4.3 diff ratio your'e at 9.3 FDR. A TLR in comparison with a 45T Spur, 16T pinion and 3.3 ratio is 9.2 FDR. Nearly identical.

If your deans melted it was a loose or bad connection and may be the shut down source in the first place. Deans are good connectors but if they get loose or the plates get burnt...they're done and should be replaced. What sucks is they're hard to see inside, especially the battery/female side.

What he said. My "brown out" cut-out problems were due to my Deans connector loosing connection. I used a small flat blade screw driver and needle-nose pliers to bend the springs back out and now I don't have any cut-out issues.

The pinion gearing is why one is so much faster than the other. Generally speaking the 4600 in the TLR should be 14/40, and the same motor in the Tekno should be 15-16.

On the Pro4HD the TLR should be 16T, where the Tekno would be 17T in most cases.

The Tekno has a lower diff ratio, 4.0 if I recall compared to the TLR at 3.3

Ok, the 14T and 2050 is likely good gearing for an indoor track. If you're outdoor on a typical 1/8 track gear up to at 15T. If you're having brown out issues again I'd like to know if your Gen2's Hv bec is turned on ? is it ?

ON the SCTE and 4300 you're under geared by at least 2 teeth. Gear up to a 16T. What servo is in this car?
