Default Avids stuff..

Hello, i just got the B4.1 (old school ) and wanted a big bore shock but AE Front/Rear shocks cost alot. So i have decided to go for the Avid 12mm spring collar adapter and the Alum spring cup for B4.2 (hope it fits). Question is, have anyone use these before on the B4.1 stock shocks? Is it good or would rather go for the AE 12mm BB shock kit. Thanks in advance. Cheers...

You can go this route for sure and it's a mid way step between the V2 shocks and the BB shocks. Works very well on some tracks where the BB shocks aren't needed.

If you're looking at save money you can skip the AVID lower collars and go with the plastic AE or Traxxas collars.

Ya, I'd go with AE lowers. No need for aluminum there.

I was about to suggest tlr shocks for you because just this past December I learned they were $18 for the front set and $22 for the rear set (less springs) but it seems they upped their pricing on them.

If anyone knows anywhere that still has the old pricing let this gentlemen know.

Picked up a b4.2 a few days ago and am trying to decide on what kind of setup I should run. I will be running on an indoor clay track. Should I get shorty packs and go with a full inline setup (like this:http://www.petitrc.com/setup/associa...sic2013031417/) or use full size packs??? Will be running mod with a 8.5t.

Has anyone fit big bore springs to the rtr shocks with the ride height clips? I'm considering Traxxas part 3768 but I'm not sure if the upper retainer will work. Any thoughts?

I don't know If the traxxas upper retainer works but I'm pretty sure avid makes one that does fit,

you will use the traxxas upper spring retainer, glue it to the upper spring retainer of your stock shocks. this will allow you to use the ride height shims with BB springs, or i believe avid has some that go over with a screw to hold them on, but that might not work because they are meant for the FT threaded collars which have grooves in them and are aluminum.

I bought a B4.2 a few weeks ago, and plan on racing it. I was wondering, is the front bumper that comes with it good enough, or is there a better front bumper to run? Thanks

Get the rpm mini bumper. Works great. It's what I use. AE bumper is to weak.
I also got the rpm front A arms.

Stick with the AE non carbon stuff. Put b44 rear arms on it.
