The AE FActory Team B44.2 Thread
#6901
Ok guys, I have the ORIGINAL B44 from when they used to run the chassis with the holes cut out for the NiCh batteries. I have just about have everything to make it a B44.2, I just want to know what route I should go chassis wise.... I would like a nice thorough explanation of what chassis I should go with (Avid or AE). Thank you.

When u say chassis I assume ur asking ether carbon or aluminum. And I would say 100% alumium. I run carbon cuz I got it used for 35$ cuz I drove a friends b44.2 with the avid chassis and wow did they get it right. It feels a lot more planted and the wait down low makes it roll but not flip over so more corner speed! The stuff works. But I run on indoor clay and I like to be nimble so I like my carbon but would switch to carbon is someone have me the chance

yeah, I do this too. I learned about that when I had the original b4. If the front wheels land slightly first, it take a lot of the slap out. The smaller doubles just need to be timed better. The big kicker table top....well, not much I can do about that. The jump was designed to launch the car really high.

only one driver (barry baker) running the .1 from pics/results i've seen. he finished 24th out of 30 for invite drivers...with finishes between 8-10 in the rounds he ran. From all indications so far, everyone else was running AVID chassis. (BB is no slouch of a driver, so it could easily be inferred that the .1 chassis held him back!) And v2's? being better all around than BB's?!!! lmfao! Would love to see some PROOF of someone inside of the top 100 drivers running v2's lololol. WC sure does have some good ol stories though!
I also don't see any of the trcr fast guys on any a-main or b-main sheet. I see Luke Smith, but I do believe he calls Bremerton his home.
On to the next Wild "2 laps down" Cherry fairy tale!! lolol

I am sure WC is a decent driver with the mountain of hours he has in practice. But is also in lala land sometimes. He was hard against MM for the longest time, but is saying RM is the past and anyone not running MM is slow. He seems to claim all of these things like they are in stone, then follows the next trend from his local racers and now that is Gospel. He is not very objective and has massive tunnel vision. He has AE blinders on for sure. Until AE made a MM, MM was crap. AE puts out the centro in the US and its the best thing ever. and so on.

I don't know your skill, so I won't comment on that, I will say I do know WC's skill set, he's not slow, better than me any day of the week and twice on Sunday's, I'm not trying to start anything here, but I'm gonna say it might be a taller order to actually beat him on the track than on the internet, he's a very accomplished driver, just my opinion.

This is a great car with the CF chassis. If you're running very competitively at your track, then try the different chassis options as tuning options. If you're that close to the next guy (ahead or behind) and you really love the class, then it's worth it.
If you're just getting into it or have a lot more to go till you're with the top guys then wheel it a bit more before you try a new chassis. That way when you do, you'll appreciate the differences more and be able to choose based on your feel for the car, which is ultimately what's most important.
