By O-ring bore I meant the opening on the shock body.

Is there a difference? They are designed by the same person. Avid is bronze colored and Schelle is black. They look very similar in both layout and details. I prefer the bronze/gold color myself.

The Schelle has holes pre drilled for the upcoming shorty pack conversion. I have the Schelle

For sure I'm getting used to using saddle packs but shorty packs are easier and I'm sure lighter.

Ok guys, i have Just bought the schelle alu. The shorty compatiblity makes it very intresting. Most of the time I run my b44.2 on Astro An carpettracks, so morge stiffer chassis is A good option I think.

Just installed my old C4 12mm shocks .

Been trying pistons & oil combo's.

Tried to make 4 hole pistons work.
The 55 size was ok, but not enough pack.

So I tried 4 hole 56 , only to end up way to stiff.

Next combo I tried is 3 x 1.4 .

I used a flat piston in front with 37.5 w & tapered 3 x 1.4 32.5w in the rear.

This proved to be very good.

The tapered piston in the rear allows a heavier oil with out losing proper shock action. They bring improved landings and the thicker oil helps control roll.

Still working on , if I discover a even better shock package will post about.

front

Ae blue spring,flat 1.4 x 3, 37.5 w, 1 x .030 limiter.

rear

Ae green spring, tapered 1.4 x 3, 32.5w, 1 x .030 limiter.

Just how much difference do you notice with the tapered vs flat? I'm curious because I accidentally bought tapered.

Gti
A little better handling and improved landings, give the combination a try .
Biggest difference is the improved stability & improved turn in entering the corner.
I'm running 21 mm & 20mm rear ride height .
