Wonder why they come with different cables?
The one my brother received had the USB dongle, a USB male to USB male, a standard micro USB cable. You need to put all of them together to make it work.
It is now 150 miles away so I can not take pictures of it.
Buzz.

I managed to work it out with the help of the above post and have FS-gt3c working with VRC Pro perfectly, simple solution as above but mine did not come with extra cables so I just used a spare usb socket from old pc and connected green wire to tip of 3.5mm jack and black wire to earth of 3.5mm jack then plugged the 3.5mm jack into my Saili generic simulator and set it up on (g4,g5) (switch on side selects setting for different games, found this position works best) then connect other end with normal usb cable to transmitter... . Plug SAILi simulator into pc and let drivers load then just calibrate in windows game controller and you are ready to go.
Thanks very much for your post, I found another way using your same method where my radio didn't come with all the extra cables either:
1) Cut off the DSC 3.5mm connector, then splice into the coax and separate the braided strands and twist them into a single wire, then strip the lead off the yellow wire
2) Cut off the Male end of a sacrificial Mini-USB cord, then splice into the coax and separate the braided strands and twist them into a a single wire, then strip the lead off the white wire
3) Connect the White wire to the Yellow wire, then connect both ends of twisted braids
4) Connect custom cord to PC + Radio, then turn on the radio and then the drivers will automatically install
5) Launch VRC, go into game settings, calibrate, then reverse the throttle

So I need a sacraficial USB cord that has a bullet style male connector it looks like.
Also, you used the provided DSC 3.5mm connector that charges the radio. After you modified it, does it still charge the radio?
The other "how to" post shows him connecting up the black and green wires. You only connected the yellow up. Is this because he used a different style bullet connector?

Once you cut the "Mini-USB" cable (which is used to charge the radio), only the white signal wire is used and the Red (+5v) wire is not connected to the "USB Simulator" hence the charging capability is disabled.
You'll need to have an extra "Mini-USB" cable that isn't altered in order to charge the radio separately from the custom "USB Simulator" cable. Otherwise buy an adapter like this to switch between modes of use:

Updated my last post to a link with the proper cable just in case folks didn't see the update, the link I provided previously was wrong and has been replaced with the correct cable that should work.
*** UPDATE ***
after more thought, it just occurred to me that the cut USB section can probably be recycled to connect the red to red and black to black wires back together, then plug the secondary USB to charge the radio at the same time while the USB Simulator is receiving signal. Kinda sucks that 2 USB ports would need to be used up, but I think it is possible to charge the radio at the same time while playing VRC.

I just confirmed that splicing the original USB back into the Mini-USB, and only connecting Red + Red and Black + Black wires will charge the radio while in use with VRC simultaneously with 2 different USB ports:

The USB "Y-Harness" shows the USB Simulator on left for use with VRC, regular USB on the right is for charging... either cable can be used independently from one another or both at the same time

Thanks Dr_T, I have had mine for sometime and no issues also!
On that note question for you guys, since the GT3C shares the same F/W as the GT3B if we update the firmware will we get the improved latency also ?
I have been waiting for Overkill R/C to restock the modding kits.. Its said back ordered for a week for 2 months now.

I bought my card here and it was delivered in 3 days:

Then I used a 3S-JST-XH extension to program my radio without any soldering
No kit, no fuss... just follow all the steps listed here:

Here's my solderless solution:
