Official FlySky FS-GT3C thread

I did a search and did not find an "official" thread for this radio so I figured it's about time to start one. There is some info about the FS-GT3C in the GT3b thread but it's scattered about and that thread is simply massive and mostly about the older model which shares a lot of electronic parts but is obviously completely different when looking at it.

So far I have seen green, orange, bronze???, and silver ones out.

Some improvements of the GT3C over the GT3B

-800mah Lipo battery standard (no AA's)
-Bearing already installed on the steering shaft
-Foam grip steering wheel instead of hard rubber
-Rubber grips (comes with two different sizes)
-About half the weight of the GT3B (C-22.X oz, B-11.X oz)
-Overall a more compact radio

Flaws of the GT3C

-Power switch problems with Orange colored models only (may be corrected on second run orange colored models. Check out his link and how to of how to fix this problem... http://www.ultimaterc.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=162011 Credit for this goes to BillDeLong over at URC. I believe he's on here too.

-Selector wheel is "reversed"

GT3B Thread... http://www.rctech.net/forum/radio-el...ansmitter.html

I should be getting mine in 1-2 weeks so I'll be sure to post up what I think of it when I get it. I'm looking forward to this radio very much after using a pair of the FS-GT2's for over a year now without any problems.

If anyone wants to voice their opinion or experiences with the radio, please feel free to do so.

Good idea on starting this thread!

I got my GT3C today!!! Was able to bind it easily and then pop in the disk for the manual and now I got to figure this thing out.

I noticed when I charge it and connect the usb cable to my laptop, my laptop says "USB Device Not Recognized" but it did fully charge my GT3C. The red LED turns Green when fully charged...so it worked! (See pic below)...

Also, when I use the scroll wheel...left is right and right is left. Anyone else?

storr99 04-27-2013 03:04 AM

mine the same when connecting to laptop i also have the scroll issue.

my mine problem is that when i try to run it on my B44.1 buggy it glitches. im running a tekin rs pro, i have no issue with glitching when using my am TX only when using my GT3C.

can anyone help me or do i just need to get new radio system.

The usb port is only for charging so I guess a computer would not be able to recognize the radio. I did bot read the entire manual yet but I'm under the impression that's all the usb port is for. I think getting a whole new radio system is the wrong and most expensive way to fix your glitching.

The reversed selector wheel is a known flaw and I have it listed under flaws on the first post.

My radio came today and I'm really impressd with it. I ran for about two hours today and really glad I purchased this radio.

Quite a few people have had problems with bad soldering of wiring internally and other issues (all detailed in the GT3B thread) - around where the on/off button and wheel are...not sure if that problem ever got resolved by Flysky from the factory for later batches. I never ended up getting one because of these problems, as I had no trouble with the GT3B

Not sure if you read the first post or not. But anyways it seems like the Orange colored ones have this problem. The green ones have had this problem fixed. I'm going to tear apart my silver one to see if flysky resolved the issue like they did with the green colored radios.

I didn't find your post through a search. I'm not sure why.

Did you recalibrate the ESC yet? I would try that first. I'm not sure if you can reset it unless its been hacked.

muney 05-01-2013 06:01 PM

tried that..once ive recalibrated the esc, turn the esc off, switch everything on and full throttle..first time my truggy jumped off the table and half way up the wall..then i took the pinion off..same thing..it just goes full throttle when switched on

I popped open the radio to check and see if the silver colored radios have the same revision the green ones have. They do have the "hot glue" fix along with plenty of wire.

Well if the transmitter is sending the full throttle signal all the time wouldn't that make it impossible to calibrate the esc correctly.

muney 05-01-2013 08:17 PM

That's right, that's why I'd like to know if its impossible to reset the handset back to factory specs

Yamsaab 05-05-2013 02:34 PM

I'm not sure there is a way to do a factory reset. Go through all your settings and return them to stock settings then rebind the reciever and finally try to recalibrate the esc.

This is for the FSGT3b...

Power on the TX, then simultaneously turn the wheel right and press the BACK button. This will clear all model memories. This does not effect the calibration settings.

I didn't find a mention of this in the 3c owner's manual but it might work since they are very similar radios underneath the skin.
