New b44.2 owner here.

I've read a lot, but honestly... there is so much on this thread that it's really overwhelming to think of how much time I'm going to have to spend to read it all....

I bought a used roller from 2slantedeyes here on RCTech.

The truck looks to be in good shape, but I've been trying to figure out what else I am going to be needing to keep this thing going at the track....

Just a little background...

I've got a 5 week old baby at home so my RC funds are a little tight right now.
I've been racing SC, and 1/8 E-bugs for the past 2 years (Tekno SCT410, Mugen M-spec Eco, and a Slash 2wd.)

I've got a Mamba Max Pro/5700kV combo in the bin just sitting around, as well as a Savox 1258tg...

I got 1 Gens Ace saddle pack in the deal along with 1 set of tires.

My paypal account has $115 right now, and I have a $50 gift visa gift card...

So, what should I be buying with my $165 for this truck?? Do you think a sensored motor is a "MUST"?

If a sensored motor is a must, has anyone out there tried the GForce 6.5t? I think it seems like a pretty good value for $35. (any opinions?)
http://www.valuehobby.com/power-syst...150kv-65t.html

Also, what would be the "spare parts" list for an order? (I know the A-arms are suspect... and the RPM arms are pretty new for the truck so the verdict isn't out yet on them, but I think I will order them anyway as I've had pretty good luck with all of their stuff for my bashing rigs.)

but do I need things like drive pins, caster blocks, (I'll be getting the RPM ball cups also, I've seen/read enough to catch onto that one.)

Here is the FS thread I bought it off of(remember, I bought it as a roller), you can see it's pretty much stock~
http://www.rctech.net/forum/r-c-item...t-b44-2-a.html

I guess I wanted to say hello, and see what direction you guys will point me...

new motor?
new batteries?
extra parts?
used tire lot to get a feel for my local track?
new esc? (my mamba max pro does have an external BEC to go with it.)

Thanks fella's~

First off, its a buggy not a truck, lol. Secondly, the arms and ball cups are a great idea. You saddle packs might be good, I have no idea though, run it and see. For a cheap motor? I would try the speed passion motors for sale on ebay new. Most are around like $35. Yes, I would go sensored.

I have big bores on my b44.1, you can either put .2 towers on your car or use a dremel and clearance your towers. You don't have to take much off to get them to clear.

Is there anything else I need to put a 44.1 chassis on my 44.2 besides the upper decks, chassis, and short dogbone?

so you know and can make a good decision

many are not using the 44.2 chassis , instead they are using the shorter 44.1 for more agility on the track.

Also a few are switching back to the original baby bore V2 shocks for the extra pack they offer. Their extra pack adds more agilityas well.

The 12m makes for to much stability or mush the handling.

George - I have a line on a 44.1 chassis, both upper plates, and the short dogbone. What else is being done to convert? THX!

Sweet, thanks. Thought maybe the battery holders might not fit or the slipper/upper deck cap. - I've not had a 44.1 so I don't know what was changed between the two on the technical side of things. You think $50 is a fair price?
