I am curious about you guys with the light weight oils using the fironie pistons.

Is it really cold, loose track...

We run high bite with temps at about 60 degrees.

where i run is medium/medium-low bite and can be anywhere from 45 to 65 degrees this time of year.

It was mid 60's medium/high bite indoor clay.
They are 6x1.4 pistons so lighter oil than what I was running makes sense.

I was up to 40 fr 35 rr and even moved the rr shocks out to outside hole on tower to make it stiffer this weekend. Coulda went stiffer in front by 1/2 wt. felt good. It was high bite tho at Crcrc Midwest champs. Finished 5th overall in pro4 and 4th in b main in Ebuggy against some fast dudes.

Now I get why you guys are going to lower oils.

I am also at 40/35 on high bite

what springs, oil and pistons are you running front and rear?
I am using 5 pieces of stick on weights (35g) but they are easy enough to add & remove throughout the day to figure out what works for you.

I think it has to do with springs, what rates are you running? Guessing at the higher range of rates like sramos if your 40/35. I'm on the low end, greens.

I added 30 grams where the rear servo would be installed. Green front yellow rear 35 - 30. 8x1.3 pistons I'm going to try yellow front springs this week. I actually have to use brake now
To level it and I love it

What is the benefit from flipping the piston? More pack because of more fluid?

It would have less pack with a faster compression and slower rebound.

Im very tempted to try these. http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...Set-Kyosho-MP9

These 4x4 trucks already have much more neutral drag than the 2wd's, so that helps not needing to use brakes as much. That coupled with the fact that we can rotate the truck using throttle helps a lot to.

At OCRC, being a hard pack high bite clay indoor with misters, the Tekno SCT410 does a lot better when you enter into the turn a little slow, then power through the turn. Often doing drifts around them. At least this is how the fastest guys run it (both Tekno trucks). I'm slowly learning, it's not as easy to learn power driving around a tack than it is to learn to be smooth. Power driving when learning yields more crashes. The body is sure taking a beating as I learn, but I have yet to snap anything, knock on wood, yet...

I'm going to be moving to the Fioroni Pistions as well and will be trying out SRAMOS' setup, with the exception of one stop softer springs all around and using AE oils close to the Losi oils he is using this chart: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...59026428,d.cGU

However I'd love to hear from other people running the Fioroni pistons!!!!!
Put them in mine for race Saturday with SRAMOS setup except I used AE 35/30 and yellow in front since I didn't have orange spring. Ended up going to orange spring in rear and 27.5 AE because 30W and red seemed a little stiff. Flys more straight and level than ever before but seems to be more loose rear in turns so I need to figure that out. Especially sweeper and off throttle in mid-corners. I did go from 2.2 to 2.4 up front sway bar with some improvement. I think the track was a little looser than normal too though.

did you move the battery back? was there anything else you did to move the weight back?

i don't get a lot of test/tune time. track is too far away. for me, i only get maybe a pack on race day before racing starts. i need to be close when i get there (what "feels" right on bench) and then maybe one or two tweaks before racing starts. i will still give sramos' setup a shot before changing (even though the oil feels too heavy). maybe with the pack these have, i can get away with a lighter spring in the rear if i go down on the oil. i'm just paranoid of the dreaded nose dive if i go too soft on the rear spring.
I'm in the same situation. Live too far from track (60 miles) for much testing except race day. Thats why I'm always there as early as possible. Can you or anyone else elaborate on "feels right on the bench" ??? I do the drop test from a few inches. Not 100% sure I'm looking at the right thing. Also heard someone say the other day that front and rear should raise at the same speed if you press truck down and release????

Don't remember ever discussing "bench testing" on here but I have been curious of the different techniques and opinions.
