Tamiya TB04 Pro

I would if I could, but I can't, so I won't
Nice work Craig. My dremel has already seen action with this chassis I installed a TB03 ball diff and spool into the car to help with FDR as well as reduce rotational weight. It drops in but the top of the TB03's small bevel gear had to be dremeled a bit to get the e-clip to snap on.
In any event, here's a sneak peak of a step by step build I'm doing for the mothership:

FWIW, Our local "Tamiya guy" here in Indy won our VTA class with his TB04 on his first night out with his new car.
He's running his own special motor/gear thingy to get the FDR right for our track (3.70ish).
Hate to see him when he gets it dialed in.

I race with Crispy, and the guy running his TB-04 basically made a spacer which moved the motor to the left. This allowed him to run a FDR close to 3.6 in VTA. After chatting with him today, he mentioned that he liked one of the solutions/pictures that someone already posted on his thread.
Overall he really liked how the car handled and especially likes how many parts he can share between his other Tamiya cars.

May I ask what Spur Gear you guys are using? Is it still the kit spur?

Has anyone actually raced their car yet? Im thinking of getting one and was wondering about how it handles, how much it weighs, and weaknesses in the car

Does anyone ever run the stock arms and hubs? I've always used the carbon reinforced ones, and have almost enough parts to build a whole other car...

found a vid with TB-04 in action. FDR was limited to 5.0, but the handling in the infield looked really good. Once he does the FDR mods, the car would be very competitive.
