Trying to see if the rest of you notice the Tekno being slower than other SC's down the straight. I run a Tekin RX8 and the Pro 4 4600. My truck is by no means slow...only I get walked by Losi's and Durango's. everything seems to be working. 15 pinion.

the highest kv for HD series is 4300, 540 pro 4 is 4600, I run a 15 pinion on my HD 4300 and no way the thing is slow down the straight, check EPAs and current limit, something must be turned down
I run a RX8 with a 4700 hobbywing at a decently large indoor track in my Tekno and my one and only day with it I ran a 15t and felt under geared. I will be running a 16 this weekend and I would think a 4300 would want at a minimum 15t or better 16t. There are some running that truck and motor running 17 to 18 pinions.
The HD has a ton of torque from what I've heard so you should be able to go to a higher tooth pinion to get the top speed you want and still have stump pulling torque out of the turns.

I could be totally wrong because I have not ran the scte but I think those run a smaller pinion than the Tekno given the same power system.
I ran a 14t with the HW 4700 in my Mugen and used the 15t that I had in the tekno and I did not feel like I was geared right. That and from what I've seen those that came from the HW to the pro4 HD stepped up a tooth.
I guess I will know after this weekend if the 16t is too much. In the end it is track dependent and driver preference but if you don't have the top speed you want and you have more than enough torque and your motor is still cool... you can go up a tooth and get that top speed your looking for. Not you... but what Victory's looking for.

My hd 4300 tekno have plenty on 15t I'm getting all the speed I need, can't wait to adjust current limit so I can have better control, does anyone know how the current percentage works when using the quicktune mode on the rx8 g2, I see there's 13 increments with 13 being no limit(100%) but what's the percentage for 1-12

+1 . . . I run the 18t with the 4300 HD, too. Massive straightaway speeds, and reasonable temps in the 160s (180s if I drive really hard, but this may be due to overdriving and excessive wheelspin--193 is my hottest temp yet running on a very loose outdoor track on a 90 degree day, but this is still safe).
