Tekno SCT410 Thread
The air space for the vent is above the diaphragm so it does not contaminate the oil. Not a problem.
It gives you less rebound than non vented so its a little more of a muted feel and not as springy feeling.

Clipped a pipe coming off the straight in the sweeper and it ripped the wheel off. Barely any contact though, just grazed it.
The spacer for the 17mm hex adaptor snapped and the nut with the rest of the spacer was still attached to the axle. Threw on the plastic 12mm hex's and used Scott Kelley's scte wheels (thanx Scott) in the rear for the rest of the day.
Hex's held up fine. Looks like if I'm going to be stubborn and stick with 17mm I will need the help of my machinist buddy to make a set for me.
After my first day with it...
Flew fine, neutral. I did get parachute with the air guards if my nose was up. Removed and much better (indoor).
Rear end felt a little too sprung for me, will be going up from 35/30 to 37.5/32.5 and try that. Steering is incredible, need to tame that down a bit.
Really lose rear end on corner entry, exit its locked in, need to find a balance. May be diff fluid, 7/5/5 now so I'm going to up the weight in the center before I change roll centers.
All in all though, I like the truck and will like it better once I have found my setup
Thanx for letting me try the Kyo springs Kuya.

I'll run them sealed first and see how it feels.
It will be Oct. before I go out and run this thing.... To hot for me right now and I still have to pick a motor and servo to go with my Viper ESC.
May be best to drill the holes out and use the screw for non vented so you can pull the screws after a couple packs and compare.
October? That would kill me. It killed me to not drive mine the weekend after it was built

I go thru this every year... I stop racing around June and go back around Oct.
It's hard to do but if I build something during the summer it helps....lol
Never ran 4x4 sct... 2 wd sct and 1/8 buggy is my norm. Looking forward to running this truck
Yea... I knew it was above the diaphragm but really wanted to know what it was good for, thanks. Seems like it will suck some dirt into the holes and pack under the cap..

Make sure you have good batteries for it too.
Also... I almost feel like a traitor here, but i've been seriously considering trading my Tekno for a Losi...
I had an original SCTE, threw everything at it and that truck to me, was just more stable and predictable then my Tekno is.
I've been running the Tekno since May, and I still dont feel 100% comfortable with it yet. I have to drive it conservative, or I wad it up.
I'm using Sramos setup, and my steering is down to -20 expo and 90% dual rate and it still feels twitchy.
Im kind of at an impasse here.
If you're waiting until Oct to get a motor, the new Viper 4 poles should be out by then, im testing the VF4.0 which is a 4000kv in my Tekno, using a 16t and the VTX8, its moving the truck very good! My temps are around 155-165 depending on if its a 6 or 7 min main.
Make sure you have good batteries for it too.

I have a feeling I'm going to play with roll centers to make it less aggressive. I really had to have a slight touch to feed it through the turns and the sweeper was a hand full. Traction rolled a couple times if I took it too fast. Traction rolling was not in the Mugen's repertoir but it didn't turn in as well either... I need to find a balance.
Too twitchy for me too, but like you I'm coming from a conversion truck.

I think I might strap a pound or 2 of lead on it and see if that helps!

Otherwise ?
I may end up with the handing of my Mugen but with 1/10 axles
Everyone is looking for something different to match their driving style. Its always easier to take away steering than to find it. This is a great truck, I just need to set it up for how I like to drive.

I am running a PRO4 HD 4300 with a gen2 RX8 and I am a little curious about ESC settings....
Anyone running this combo (successfully) want to share their settings? My biggest concern is current limiting. I have seen recommendations of around 60-80, but that was with a pro4 4600. Should the 4300 be down around 30-40 to start?
I took the fan off my motor and I want to make sure temps stay low (just like everyone else).
Thanks guys!

Temps. If your temps are ok @ 100 CL, then its only about traction. If temps are not ok, then limit to an ok temp or change gearing if its sluggish because its too limited trying to get to a safe temp.
Traction. Limit the CL if you are on a slick surface. I run a high CL of 90 but I drive on high bite indoor. Limit CL to get the initial power your looking for.
No timing on the pro4
I like some push added in and even more with the Tekno than the Mugen to keep it rolling through the turn. This has so much front traction it seems like it scrubs speed in a turn more than what I'm used to.
I run the ESC brake low... like 45 or something. I like to get it to where it is just skidding with the radio epa and dr at 100 and back off with radio dual rate from there so I'm not running a high brake setting in the esc and 30 or something on dual rate and reducing the resolution.
Went from a slash to the Tekno, and you automatically become a better faster driver, it's nothing like the slash. Read the rest of the thread don't just take the 2 opinions, as they are their own preferences, you got a great truck don't worry.
