Tekno SCT410 Thread
Just took my SCT 410 out for the first time. The only problem I was having was the motor was running hot. I have a Tekin RX 8 and a Tekin 4600 motor with a 15T pinion. Forgot my temp gun but after 5 min of run time I could feel it was running to hot. A buddy of mine is running the same set up with no issues. Any suggestions?
Thanks, I def am not worried about it, especially after the full throttle runs today and never reaching the 150s, I guess it's more ascetically pleasing than practical on the fan/ heatsink for the motor.. On a separate note I'm in love with the steel spur and no noticeable leaks in the diffs as of yet, so maybe the guy who had it first did something wrong with the diffs initially.. I think I may get some slicks for this puppy and when the track is closed take her out for some strictly street runs lol.. Anybody else run this in an on-road setup?

Maybe the Gen2 RX8 has a better BEC, but the last version often had issues running servos like Savox and other high power ones without BEC. Not all "race grade" ESCs are created equal unfortunately.

To everyone that commented on the shock rebound issue. I believe that I had figured it out last night. As we would say in the Army it was a HEAD SPACE and TIMING issue. I had put the rubber washers in-between the red washers instead of the plastic spacers in which when put the lower caps on it squeezed the washers to tight. like I said little things will get ya LOL thanks

As I stated, "race grade".
(and yes, I have ran many a Castle ESC.
)
The issue was always receiver transfering power TO the servo in my experience. I've ran MMP's no problem with Spektrum 6030's and savox 1258's and so on for years. It was always 'always' a spektrum issue with their receivers. drop in a real radio, and the servo issues go away. (This goes for Rock Crawlers too, always receiver issue, not the BEC) MMP's are underrated due to the almost always a pairing with Spektrum. That's my Hobby Shop employee / Track employee experience. Either way.

If it is some compatibility issue between the two than Castle should fix it, their standalone 10a BEC's work fine through Spektrum RX's so it shouldnt be that hard to fix.
Emulsion is easier to build consistently but doesn't work as good with these bigger bore shocks.
Pls dont reply if you don't know what you are talking about. All is in the manual.
There are three holes that can be drilled in the cap. If you wan't to run vented then drill a 1-2mm hole in the center of top cap as per manual. I made a 1.5mm hole. Vented is better for a little rougher surface and std bladder if smoother.

Doesn't sound like a good idea to me.. Any advantages to this set up?
