Tekno RC EB48 Thread

Thinking about my .2 build, and curious if the crowd has any input on pairing the HW SCT-Pro with one of their 1/8 scale motors. It seems the 150A is big and requires some mods to fit. My .1 has an RX8 and the 2050 which has been rock solid, but not sure I want to drop the coin to go Gen 2 as the HW setup in my SCT410 has been really impressive. TIA.

For 4s SMC has the below 6500 mah 70c/140c and its 22.29oz. The trinity 6700 is twice the price and only .39 oz lighter. Plus SMC has awesome customer service like Tekno.

Yes. Mine came with a bunch of the stuff that is now standard on the EB48.2 upon review for lightening it up and it works excellent. I am toying though with using the black SCT410 chassis to see how it handles as I have a spare.

SMC batteries and nothing else, for the price there is nothing better, love mine.

Plus, there's now their own aluminum servo horn (made for EB48) which should be an upgrade on any vehicle from the start in my opinion.

So basically.... the plastic diff cups, o-ring seals, the rear center bone and and wheel CVDs are the same. Everything else is new vs the original release of the EB48. LOL.

seem like I have to wait till next week.
Dear Tower Hobbies Customer,
Thank you for contacting Tower Hobbies. Unfortunately, we have no information on that vehicle at all. We do show the EB48 will arrive in the next week or so; however, there is nothing about the .2 version. Good luck in your search. We appreciate your time and business with us.

Personally I dont mind running the plastic arm as the "weak link" A good plastic servo arm should hold up just fine in normal crash situations. I ran Xray and Asociated plastic arms for years with no complaints. If the new Tekno arm is any good I'll probably run that too.

That's correct. We still recommend an aluminum horn, but the stock piece is much better than before. It's something that involved a costly mold modification, but we decided in the scheme of things we should continue to improve every aspect of the car if possible.

Cool. I already have the HB horn. No need for another. I do like their new aluminum horn though. Looks good.

How has the reliability been with the hard anodized aluminum rod end pivot balls? I always wished someone had made steel balls for the Losi SCTE rod ends because I hated replacing them every couple of months when they wore down. I'm still using the rod ends that came on my first run EB48 and there is almost no wear what so ever.

+1.5 degree rear toe plate (TKR5013B). Anyone know when these will be in stock or where I can get one? They are as elusive as the EB48.2.
Speaking of, awesome upgrades... they could have almost just called it the EB48I (for indoor obviously) it is so light, I think it would get tossed around on my local outdoor track.
