Serpent 811E Buggy Thread

I don't think its gonna happen ever. I put a Novak Ballistic 8 in a 811BE and I had to grind on the end bell and the groove the steering rack to make it clear. the Tekin Truggy 2250 motors are 4-5mm longer then that. Not gonna happen without a full redesign of the chassis and motor mount.

Keeping motor temps below 180 is very difficult with a 2650 when racing a7 minute main onroad. 2250 Truggy motor on my old cars stayed much cooler around 30 degrees when compared to 2650's geared for identical speed (60mph)
Really like the new servo and RX mounting kit though. Just ordered it from desoto. Looks like the new setup will be more airflow friendly vs the original RX tray that I felt enclosed everything to much especially the motor.

Was wondering who would lop off the extra carbon behind the diff mount. Not sure what the idea was behind that. Maybe to tie down some wires?

Orca I and 2 of my buddies all had no problems making 10 minutes on Shorties. My one buddy Richard still runs the big 1900kv tekin motor and he makes it with juice to spare. We also run on a LARGE outdoor track that is grooved up and the current layout is extremely strapped.
Mayor I think they were planing on mounting the transponder there. The 2 screw hole were the right spacing for the mount bracket.

since I don't have a battery sponsor I budget shop Lipos. Turnigy batteries are an awesome value and you can get the a spec or standard 4200Mah shorties for like 38$ each. There in stock at the moment at the American warehouse also. I just got this pair of intellect shorties from Pro Match RACING. They are less then 50$ each also. Can't go wrong with either of them IMO. If money's no object I'd get the ProTek 100c packs from A main with the 5mm bullets or the new Trinity formula X packs. They are both in the $100 piece range.
