I have to say...I've now ruined two sets of rims. One set of tires. Had to purchase another set of hubs, tires and rims and have them shipped here over night due to deadlines. Total investment is nearing 1/3 of the value of the car and I've followed all the directions per Tekno's recommendations (using LOSI STE wheels.) I'm not real impressed so far. Not to mention the rear bearing sheared off its protective film to protect from debris.

I do believe many aspects of the truck are great however its beginning to affect my wallet and the fun factor significantly. For those of you with comments about the second reference to the wallet, I'm financially sound. This is out of principle.

One last thought....I did purchase DE Borrego wheels today. Anyone have advise on the need to trim them? Quality?

Thanks.
Were did u find aluminum hubs for the 410?

Don't sweat it. I have lots of Borrego's with no problems. If you ask me in my experience, the AKA wheels are the crappy ones...

+1 on the AKA rims are the best in my opinion too. Haven't had a single problem with them. Haven't been using the JC Hazards since they are +3mm rims that push the SCT410 too wide. those rub on my SC body and eat up my tires. I also use the JC Rulux rims. but still prefer the AKA rims overall.

the +3mm rims are only for the AE vehicles I believe. btw they sell SCTE Hazard wheels.

I think they make non-offset Hazards rims now too. Also added an insert to make them look more like dish wheels.

I would have gotten them but run hazards on my SC10 and needed a way to easily figure out which was offset and which was not. I've got a few on the stock SC10 4x4 rims and they work pretty well.

Been thinking of looking for trade for a B44.2 since 4x4SC is all but dead here. Its been a shame watching my truck sit on the sidelines for so long now. I have my hardly ran spare im putting up for consideration. Stock chassis, aluminum center drive shaft, proper tekno aluminum hexes and several spares. Id expect the B44.2 to be a real one and in equal shape (nearly new looking) as this SCT410.

I'm about done with 12mm wheels anyway. Fixing to order up the 17mm hex conversion and just run 17mm Trinidad SC wheels...no more rim bs.

Watching the nationals out in Chico @ Silver Dollar, sugar on the track they say its like sandpaper super high traction. I was hoping to see someone running a SCT410 but I haven't seen that class yet? are they not running it? I've seen 2wd truck, SCT, buggy and 4wd buggy but I haven't seen 4wd SCT. If there not why aren't they? Its currently 10th race of 24 2nd round.

Its just not a popular class out here now and getting worse. When I live in California it was big at most tracks in Southern California, not so much up north. Here in AZ its completely dead. From talking with a lot of people here its not a welcomes class because of the slash 4x4 and a few other trucks that bring in new people that have no business driving one. Ive heard people were tearing up tracks, causing a bash fest and hurting marshals, but I find that a poor excuse and think its more of a they say its dead so people dont get em to run now here.

I will agree with one thing though, and thats Why beginners are so attracted to the fastest heaviest 1/10th vehicles on the market.

I use a Hudy setup station so it wasn't an issue for setup, but yeah, the trinidads were all over the place and there's no way you could eye ball camber.
See the difference in these pics, tons more webbing and seems like it has to be different plastic used... to me at least.

Only thing with me is: a stiffer tire doesn't mean alot to me. a flexible tire isn't a "bad" thing necessarily. It can have benefits too. Now if the tire flexes and warps, that's different!

You're good man. It's not a big deal. Everyone has their experiences. Mine was with Trinidads which do not have the kind of webbing your Borreg's do. You'll be just fine.
