Thanks for all the input and testimonials from everyone..........

Are you guys running the aluminum shock caps?.....thats really the only thing I was a little disappointed in on the eb48 kit!

I'm not sure...I just noticed the aluminum caps were an option...so I was assuming (perhaps improperly) that the kit comes with composite shock caps.

I guess I'll find out in a day or two when my kit arrives.

Why not get the whole Hobbywing set up with an 1800kv motor? $211.00 I think for the whole thing...............

Default CF Shock Towers

Kind of a newbie question concerning the carbon fiber towers, I understand all CF should be sanded and then sealed with CA before using. What is the best/easiest way to get the CA on the edges?

I tried this on a front tower for my old 8ight a couple years ago and ended up kind of boogering it up. Thanks

I'm using two 2s6600 Nanotech packs wired in series.

Easiest /quickest / simplest way is with super thin instant ca & a q tip.
Dip q tip into ca bottle then role it down the edge of cf lightly . do this 2 or 3 times all the way around and Ur done

I run a 6500 4s from SMC along with an RX8/T8 1900kv on 18t. No current limit, no timing, 50% brake (I think, might be 40?).

I do drive it a bit like a 2wd, so I am generally using a bunch of throttle control coming out of a corner instead of mashing it for max amp pull, but I have yet to use 6k in the 12 min mains + warmup laps. I think I'm going to be pushing it a bit harder soon though, as it is time to work on getting faster again instead of just consistent, and I'll have a more stable setup on the new car I'm building to allow for that.

Going from memory I use about 400mA per minute. I don't like to use more than 80% of the rated capacity either.

So 13 minutes X .4A x 1.25 (inverse of 80%) = 6500mA.

How does the Hobbywing fit in the car? Does it fit ok? My RX-8 took a dump so I need to replace it and I cant get a new one anywhere right now. I dont really want to wait for the new gen 2. If the Hobbywing is working well, I would like to give it a try. How does it compare to the Tekin?

Got the new shell mounted and ready.
