I have driven the dex408 that one of the top dogs at my track runs and I absolutely hated it. The car is fast but you need to drive the balls out of it and my nerves cant handle that. Both cars are equally fast but the EB-48 is a much more pleasant car to drive.

I ended up ordering a new Tekno EB48 from Amainhobbies earlier... :-)

Can't wait to get it here and get it together. I love my Tekno SCT410 so I'm sure I will love the buggy even more!

If you want something smooth and stable, start with Curtis Door's setup.
If you want something more aggressive, start with Austin Blair's DNC setup.

Tarnation!!

I organised for Amain to order in the yellow wings, a service they can do but they are "unable" to alert me, the requester, when they arrive.

I've been checking and nothing. I checked now and they are listed but out of stock!! Burn!!!

Just finished my build. Pleased to say it went together flawlessly . I did doctor up the servo saver with some sanding to make it center percicely. I'm going for a softly sprung car to start out with . I went with pink front with kyosho baby blue rears . redrilled the rear pistons to 5 1.1/5 1.2 and running 30wt all around . car is now has good spring balance f/r. Had to lay rear shocks in and stand front up to achieve this tho. Saturday will be its first outing and can't wait to dial it in . I run on a soft dirt med traction track that's very moist . so I will report back thru the race day Saturday with my progress.

I tried getting the old rx8 back in March and here I am still waiting.

I've ran my lrp for about 10 races so far with great success. Tho I do have a hobby wing wired and ready to install if the lrp puffs smoke. The throttle feel is just so smooth in comparison to the Tekin (which my son has in his 8.2) will say the ix8 don't have the explosive punch the Tekin does but only found that to be a issue running a tight indoor track .

Man I had a DEX408 and couldn't stand it. The rear is so loose it was impossible for me to lock in. The battery arrangement makes it a pain as well.

The biggest pain for me was it was constantly bending front (rear) hingepin holders and subsequently the front driveshafts.

Its a pretty thing no doubt, but it has flaws that to me are a deal killer, namely how it drove.

When I went to the EB-48 it was like a night and day difference. This thing can withstand a nuke attack plus it handles like a dream. Best of both worlds if you ask me. Their aluminum is MUCH stouter than the Rangos.

If tekin doesn't get their $hit together soon, I may be getting a vtx8.

I am so glad that I joined the Viper team. Their stuff is top notch. You can't beat the Progauge for track tuning.

Even if they drop me, I would not use anything else.

+1 on Blair's DNC setup. That's pretty close to what I run. Indoor/outdoor Shocks, diffs are different but everything else is pretty close. I would consider that my base setup. Ive had help changing a few things when needed, but I seem to be always close.
