Aj
Were only using one shorty....

The weight the eco has can work for extra grip & stability.

But indoors ?

Lite rules...

I have a question to all you sc10 4x4 owners.I just purchased my factory team kit about two weeks ago,i have already assembaled it but im just waiting for my tires so i can hit the track. After it was put together i tried to spin the wheels with my fingers and notice it was pretty tight, but turn able with some force.I would like to know if its normal and will it losen after i run it?or may be i have something tightened down to much.
Thanks-John

How tight do you have the belt settings at? But yes it will feel a little restricted until the belt breaks in, but I'd monitor motor/esc temps just to be on the safe side to see if it may be another issue.

I run the locking wheel nuts and just barely get it tight. The factory team should have the aluminum hex but that's just my guess. http://www.nitrohouse.com/product.as...FUOe4Aod3DwAvw

I run the exo indoors. I've noticed adding more weight gets me a little faster, not by much but definitely makes the truck more forgiving, easier to bump doors with these 1/8th scale Sc trucks

I'm not familiar with Novak motors so I'm not sure how they perform. When I had my sc10 4x4 and a tekin 4.5 I believe I was around a 13-14 pinion with the 58t spur........Outside temps/elevation will play a role as well so I'd play it on the safer side then gear from there.

I use to think a heavier truck was the path for speed.

Added mass ballast, then had to use bigger springs & shocks to compensate for all that extra weight.

Truck ran ok , still was lacking specially on corner speed & jumps.

So amazing as it sounds remove the weight, back to 13mm spring & shocks.

Truck was way faster & more consistent as well.
Even went to single shorty for aditional weight savings.

not telling you how to do
just sharing some of the stuff we been working on here at Trcr.

We have the Sc 10 driving better then ever so you know.

Tomorrow maybe will post the pictures and details.

A light truck is only faster if the cog is low enough AND you can drive a car that's not so forgiving.

lighter the Sc 10 gets the better it drives.

adding more ballast makes you have to drive it harder and use more trigger .

Outdoors where traction is less more weight will help.

Indoors ?
Light is easier and more consistent to drive.

Why is this true ?

Because a lighter truck can be run lower then a heavier truck.

Were running the ride height at 19 to 20 mm.

Quite simply the best of both worlds. A slipper waste power if it is slipping, a differential sends the power to either the front or rear wheels, giving 100% power to the ground at all times. Now if you are just set on running a VTS setup fine but the reason you have to re sand and replace the stock AE pads is BECAUSE THEY ARE ALWAYS SLIPPING EVEN WHEN YOU THINK THEY ARE NOT!! the Garodisc cure that issue because they will not glaze and you never have to replace or reset them. On top of that you can run them looser than the stock pads without burning them up.

Keep in mind guys that it is a center dif just like every SC truck on the market has except the SC10, it will work on high bite surfaces you just have to change the pins. You dont see the tekno and losi guys locking out their center dif on high bite tracks, they simply increase dif fluids which is the same as adding pins.
You know, I wish I had tried the 10 pin setup now, was doing 8 pins and loved it on carpet.

+1, a light truck by its nature of being lighter will feel faster, more nimble, etc. But will not be forgiving, especially when you tangle with any of the heavies. Based on what Shark experience when I asked him about it, it was pretty much the same conclusion.

Also, where it is lighter will make a difference as well, especially in short course.

I'd suggest you take the belt off and make sure both the front and rear transmissions are nice and free. When I first built my SC10 4x4, I had a problem with the rear transmission case and had to replace it with a new case to remove the binding... Without a pinion/motor, the truck should roll a fair distance on a smooth surface if pushed.
