with weight down the middle you are sure to jump more evenly.

I think I have to add just a smidge of weight in the left front now but dont know how much. dont' have scales. next time I'm on the track I'll experiment.

Max Flurer is a great driver. Gotta find out what his setup was. the track was deeply bumpy and rutty and his truck was pretty much gliding over them. Dude is an awesome driver. He won every round in SCT.
That is saying a lot in 4x4 since if there was a track that Losi would dominate on it would be PNB. It's huge even for 1/8 scale models.

no kidding. He had the right setup. I know he had his shocks setup emulsion, I want to find out what oils and what pistons he was using.

The truck was on point, but the dude knows how to wheel it too.

They said they are going to have an electric only race in May, I'm wondering if the track will be setup differently and more 1/10 friendly lol.

Default Servo alignment tool?

I just built the first part of my new SC10 4x4 kit and found a problem already.
Bought a Spectrum servo and when I mounted it in the servo mounts and tried to center per AE instruction book I could not get the servo to slide FORWARD enough to fit the servo drive teeth into the servo alignment piece.
I searched this thread and could not find any mention of similar problems, what gives?
Even though the servo is lined up, but not fully forward into the mount tool, will the rest of my build go OK? Will the servo line up with the other steering parts?

Rick

May be a a canidate for the batteries where they are prewired out of the sides.

What servo exactly? When you did the slide thing, for the side mounting parts, did you extend them?

First off the front blues work GREAT in the rear! i went up 2.5 in oil to compensate for the spring rate but the truck felt really good. I am definately going to have to alter my setup but i like it. now to the reverse idler gear, it seems to work! I had to put a non sensored motor in and reverse the wires but i had this grinding noise coming out of the gear box so i could not drive it too hard and could only jump the quads, didnt bother with the triples not enough power. BUT i easily cleared the quads and was able to flat land it almost every time i tried! pretty sure with more power it will be easier. my first attempt at the doubles i jumped and it went nose down, i floored it and i will be damned......the front came back up quite easily! next lap I stayed on the gas, tapped the brake and the nose went down! although not as dramatic as my Durango but MUCH better than before. Probably more exciting than that is the fact that the truck now has tremendous on power steering as well as increased corner speed. It didnt try and lift the front tires off the ground down the main straight or do bounce wheelies off of small irregularities on the track. It was a joy to drive.....again. SO next week i will order more dif gears, put a stronger motor in and commence to tuning the new setup. IMHO i think it is a combo of the rear springs (getting the ass end in the air) and the reverse motor allowing you to adjust altitude. Since the truck is not extremely high or low its easier to control. The idler gear lasted through two 6000mah packs but is showing some wear so im going to order the aluminum HOT racing gear. More feedback next week, stay tuned
looking forward to more reports. Glad it appears to be working out!

just installed a reedy sonic 5.5 turn 550 motor. after a 30 minute run on the track what temp should the motor be? i checked the temp after 30 minutes and it was at 165 degrees. is that to high? i'm running a 12t and wondering if i should drop it down to an 11t. its a small indoor track.

also does anyone know any motor fans that would fit? there's not much room for one...

Having a bit of an issue trying to figure out what is wrong with my SC10 4x4. Gears are meshed correctly, but when I accelerate forward I get a "stripping gears" sound, however when in reverse, it sounds just fine. I am stumped. Can anyone help?

That is pretty good for 30min run! Not sure how you can run 30 min on a pack but your fine. Most club races are 6 minutes!!!

I think 165 degrees is fine - at TEN MINUTES. At thirty, you're good.

Good idea.

Certainly, it's a compromise, but it's so close to the center I doubt it changes the wheel weights or the L/R % very much. Most users are going to add some weight back anyway so it's not super critical. Just make sure you can still get your battery unplugged!
I thought about it hard until I said screw it, and dremeled. But I think it will be ok. I can balance with weight like said and get it balanced right.

I'm looking forward to it.

Would also love to find out his setup. Or any videos of the race.

Does anyone know max's setup at motorama this year? I'm pretty sure he drove an sc10 4x4 on a big, 1/8 dirt track. He came in 2nd.

Thanks!

I'm curious on the spektrum servo, too. The high voltage 6100 that I was thinking about getting is actually smaller than the stock servo in the old rtr.

Shortening the wheelbase would help on a tight track with 180s correct?
