AE / Thunder Tiger released a 4x4 MT.

The part of that that looks interesting to me at least is the up front battery setup. With the handling benefits I liked with the battery forward design of the Tekno EB48, was curious how that concept could work in a dual pack setup.

This was my truck, from August 2010. Since then I've moved the batteries further forward.

I know Don, I raced oval with him on and off for the past decade (which is where the idea for 1s batteries came from, left over oval stuff).
No more Icon motors for BK?

Its the MGT with a brushless conversion ..
I had one of these a few years ago in fact and raced it ...

Not sure if the Tenko guys would use any of it , but power to um if they can ...

No need since Tekno's single pack layout is pretty much ideal in comparison to other ones that instead have the battery further from the centerline of the chassis, but for those who use dual packs like serpent, durango, and caster, gives an interesting idea of a battery forward layout.

Heck, would be curious on a 1/10 level scale if any benefits could be seen.

That's pretty cool. But monster trucks have pretty much died here.
I mean they were popular when they were nitro, I think nitro in general
has taken a huge hit, barley anyone runs nitro around here anymore.
There's a couple people interested in the SC10GT here, and I think
it's a good concept because then Short Course has another option.

Ive seen an SC8e run here and those are awesome! I got the SC10 4wd
because I wanna run 4wd Corr but I didnt want the Losi or the Tekno.
The Losi is a good truck but having a metal spur and metal pinion makes it loud. And I dont like the Tekno because I dont like the way the servo goes in.
I feel the SC10 4wd has alot of potential to be a good race truck. I dont
race outdoors much and if the SC10 4wd doesnt perform outdoors I can
always make it into an indoor truck. Plus there's plenty of spares for the 4wd SC10 at my local track. Getting spare parts for a Tekno is kinda tough.

so rebuilding my diffs and went to put idler gear back on and realized the factory team manuals pg 10 shows the outer skirt or edge of idler gear is on the opposite side of topshaft hole meaning whatever side topshaft exits diff case, the idler gear skirt is not on that same side.

Yet in this video this guy puts in backwards of manual and pops out topshaft at 1:04 to put idler in where in manual it shows idler gear slipping right on.

So whats the right way?

I would Trust the manual myself. That's the way I built it and no problems ever

If you try to install both gears with the flanges on the same side ?

Won't fit & won't spin very well ...

Watched Ryan's new Sc10 ripping the track yesterday , looks good and the smile on face proved it ...

ModelTech

your pic's of the 8mm camber mod

Apparently, a number of other drivers were running the Tekin 550 four pole motors - which would explain why BK looked down on power.

He was. Thats got to be a 1300 watt motor.

Yes I love it. Going to remove the strc steering rack and saver and install the factory team rack to gain more steering. It sure looks nice tho . Also goin to play more with rear camber link positions. The hubs that came with it are the hot racing brand with the carbon towers. (Very nice) They are stock height I believe but with 2 sets of holes like the avid towers. They may be even taller than stock but I know they are shorter than The 8mm mod. Sooo.. I used the upper middle hole with 5 washers under the inside tower ball stud. Rear end was loose an wanted to swap.. Removed washers inside down to 2 washers and it made a huge difference! Much more grip. Still need to test more options.
Very happy with the truck just need to tame the rear end a bit, that is all

Not sure, and I'm not sure what I heard is what actually went down. Can't find any pictures one way or the other. Several TLR guys were running solid wheels in short course, so I assume no because they are a big no no in ROAR.
