I thought the samething but from changing setup springs and oils. It has no pack out of box. I'm running 50 yellow front 45 orange rear. "Tekno springs"

That's what I'm going to try, yellow front, orange rear. Changing the pistons to Kyosho 8 x 1.3 and keeping the oils at 30R 35F to start.

What ride height does everyone run for blown out tracks with big air?

Do yourself a favor and download Curtis Door's setup from the Tekno site. With the 8x1.3 pistons you should start with 37.5/30.

We're using 26/28 around here. You might want to try 28/30.

Summer in South FL is rapidly approaching and temps are getting brutal. What I mentioned is just my starting point. I use set up sheets for reference, but do my best not to just blindly copy them. I like to drive it and try to determine what it needs, then glance at the sheets to see if racers much more skilled than me agreed. Usually I'm on the right track, but seeing softer springs on the sheets boggles my mind. its completely contrary to what i experienced.

Thanks for that - I was looking at other cars but Serpent was outside of my radar. I picked up that spring as well as the 3.3 and 3.2 to work on getting my buggy setup. CSI and Kyosho white 1.3 x8s seemed hard to come by as well, so I went with Ghea pistons and the Kyosho front spring.

Pretty excited for my order to arrive.

I've got a set of black kyosho 8x1.3 pistons, everyone keeps referring to white ones, what's the difference?

+1 on that. Ask Bashem about the two servos he went through on Sunday! Had the saver cranked. I have the serpent spring. Dremel the inner diameter a little, and thread it on about 2mm. That's it. Fixed!

I run in the tampa area so the warm weather is a concern for me with shock oils. I know that the shock oils are not supposed to thin out with heat but they do. In the warm weather i bump up my oils by 5 wt. This past weekend i tried a new approach with springs and i was pleasantly surprised. Lighter spring and heavier sway bars made the car much better. The car generates much more traction. The heavier bars keep the car from over rolling. The outer hole on the arms for shock mounting have also become my new best friend.

I also went stiffer with spring when i started with this car. It was good but no way near like it was this weekend.

Does anyone happen to run (or used to) the eb48 at dirt burners in Livonia mi? Talking to one of the guys there who knows the track and rides very well say that people say the eb48 is very loose in the rear on the track. Seems like a setup issue but hey I'm no setup guru.

It is all in setup. I get the same comments at my local track. I let people try my car so they can see it for themselves. The car will roll more than anything available because it is so narrow. If you reduce the roll to be similar to other cars, it will yield similar traction but due to the fact that the weight placement of the tekno, it changes directions more quickly and is more predictable. I have run many cars, when this car is set up right, there is nothing out there that compares. It just requires you to think outside the box. It doesnt like to be setup like most cars.
