Team Associated B4.2 Thread
#4936
Hello all, I have not owned a buggy since 1988 but have been running SC10's for a couple years now. Looking to expand our fleet for more racing action I ordered a couple 4.2's for my son and I from Tower yesterday, I am looking forward to the builds and I am sure I will have some questions even though I think I read this whole thread twice now. Waiting for them to come off of backorder kinda sucks.

Initially, against my better judgement I went with the 22 and then ended up not feelin' it so I traded it for the 4.2 to get back to what I know and love and the car was NOT as described. So much for rock solid feedback.
Anyhow I assumed he built it correctly but as time has passed I'm realizing he was clueless. From preferring the gear diff over the ball diff, ganked up shock bodies on a car just 2 months old, etc.. Going to do a complete tear down and rebuild it the way an RC10 is supposed to be built and be done with all the little surprises. My T4.1 runs and runs and runs with no issues so I know I can reassemble the buggy to be the same.

They do suck to drive when windy but we still have a lot of fun at the track with them, at least now we arent stuck in just one class, that makes for a long day!

It really was a pretty straightforward build, just make sure to trim the chassis and front arms as there is a lot of mold flashing that can cause the arms to bind. Otherwise, good luck, hope ya get 'em quick! I waited a month for mine!

I know others had them in stock but I had one of them $120 off $800 or more coupons so I figured it would be worth the wait. I ordered some DS1313 servos and a variety of tires to go with them. I didn't take long to hit $800 that's for sure!

I went to an outdoor race last year that has a huge (30'
) ski jump on the back side. I got hit by a gust of wind that flipped my b4 over backwards to land on the nose! I swear I saw a short bus stop in mid air that day
1/8 buggies were the only guys brave enough to do the ski jump on a regular basis & they had major problems.
