For sure DO NOT use shims inside the diffs with the new gears. They were not designed to work that way.

The old orings are the fat ones, the new ones are the skinny ones.

Haven't heard this much about orings since the space shuttle disaster

So all the kits are shipping with the wrong o-rings? All 6 diff bags had the big o-rings pictured on the last page in the 2 kits I just picked up from Serpent America yesterday

Great first time out with my buggy. ran a total of 2 packs through it before racing it.

Box stock setup, with the right tires got me 3rd place this weekend at the local club race, with quite a few fast guys in attendance.

Now i am going to start working on tuning it and see what i like to make it go a little bit faster

Someone please school me on tapered pistons, do you typically run them with the taper facing down and flat up to help give a bit faster rebound than compression?

I am also thinking of starting out with rear camber and roll center changes to pick up just a tad more side bite.

Taper goes down with flat up, lr blocks for the back do help a lot

I assume LR means lower roll center, doesn't lowering the roll center take away side bite in general? making the car flatter through turns?

Not saying you are wrong, because sometimes i know the opposite of the expected result happens depending on other setup factors

If you are getting good results with it i will have to try it for sure.

Just a Tad more side bite and this thing will be spot on perfect.

Also, im running 6 hole right now with 300CST (stock 2.0 setup). Do the 8 hole tapered pistons keep the plush feel? or pack up @ lower shaft speeds like what typically happens when you go to more and smaller holes?

Thanks

Lower roll center raises center of gravity... kinda backwards of first thought, and i run csi black pistons so I'm not too sure on what your running

Yup you are correct. I have been looking at the CSI, they have been discontinued for Serpent, not sure if i am going to go that direction or not yet, they look interesting for sure.

I had not seen that they were discontinued. I think pretty much any 16mm piston works, and it is a common size for many buggies. I am running the black pistons now also, and they felt good. I ran the RCShox dual stage pistons in my old 4X4SCT and might consider it for the 811 also. I also have a set of Fioroni's that came with a parts car I want to try too. Just trying to get the rest of the setup down first. I think any of the machined pistons are good though, CSI, Serpent (the white ones), Fioroni, etc.
