Serpent 811E Buggy Thread

Does anyone use the Fiorini pistons? I see a lot about the CSI and Serpent tapered, but nothing about the super fancy ones.
Just curious. I just rebuilt my shocks on my 811 and put in CSI blues (outdoor bumpy tracks, seemed to be the recommendation over blacks which were more hard packed smooth conditions). I got a set of CSI bladders also but still using the webbed bladders that I had. 45wt front 35wt rear AE oil. Will hopefully get it out in the next few weeks, but have an onroad race in a week I am prepping for.

I run the blue CSI pistons and webbed bladders, locally.. You'll like the blue pistons!
Super nice. WAY better than the stock ones.As for oil, I'm still playing around with that.. Since Henry County will be changing their track this weekend, looks like I'll have to redial-in a lot of my setups!
When is the next race you'll be at, locally??

I ran the Fioroni pistons in my Mugen Eco. They will produce allot of pack and work well on the smoother tracks we run on in the area. However, at the PNB I ran CSI blues which worked much better on the blown out surface.

Hey guys im new to the whole forum thing. My local track is a tight indoor track and I was thinking about the CSI pistons but im not sure which color to get and what the difference between the sets are and which springs i need to use. Im currently running the stock 6x1.3 black pistons all the way around with purple front springs and yellow rears with 30w front and 25 rear all ae oil. It seems to work fine (but i may just be so use to driving it that way) but I feel like the buggy could be better in the shocks department. Any advice is appreciated.

Black is nothing to about 40-45 wt blue is 40-45 through 55 or so and red is for 55-60 and up... black for indoor and since we all seem to be running 45wt and under I'm running black with csi bladders outside. I've got 37 1/2 front with red springs and 25 rear with yellow springs . 7-5-3 diffs and car is awesome on a rough track

Have you compared the spring lengths against each other - remove your V2s and line 'em up against what you just had on there. Are you positive you have front V2 springs and not rears? If all you did was change the spring, then something's gotta reveal itself when you compare them side by side.
RC Tactical and Chicky,
Here is a pic of the springs, the Pink v1's are on the left (shorter) at 62mm, the V2 Blue is to the right of the pink which is 68.5 mm. The next spring is the V2 Purple that measured at 72mm, (installed in car) that is the reason why I had my collars all of the way up and can't make the car any lower than 30mm-31mm. I'm hoping to get this taken care of soon. Thanks for all of your help.

I run on a hard blue groove high traction clay track with medium size jumps but a lot of chicanes, and 180s.
Springs- blue fronts yellow rears (depending on the track feel you can also try 1 rate stiffer F&R)
Ride height- 27F 28R
Inserts-rear, 6rr, 4up fr
Inserts-front, 0,0 f-fr also give 2 down fr, 0 rr a go, I really liked that.
2.3 sway bars all around
10° caster
Outside holes on all 4 a-arms
#3 F #4 R shock tower

My buggy has that same setup its just i run my ride height 28f 27r. I have tried 2ft 0ft inserts but i seem to like the 0 and 0 in the front better. I am going to order the black pistons and give them a try. my diff setup is 3-5-3 ft to rr. I was running 5-7-3 and it seemed that it was pushing real bad in high speed corners so I changed one diff at a time i went down to 5 in the center didnt really notice a difference so then I changed to front to 3 and it was a whole new buggy really pleased with that setting. Thanks for all the help.

What are you running in the diffs max
Before I switched to the csi black pistons I was running the serpent 8 hole conical pistons @ 1.3dia 42.5F 35R. I actually really liked that setup also. I'm at a bit of a different setup ATM. Csi black up front with 35w and 8 hole serpent conical with 30w rear. Camber @ 1° F and 2.5° R.
I run on a high to medium traction clay track running slicks. This setup is very fast & predictable.
