1/4 inch double stick tape!

Personally I use the Parma servo tape, but I double it up under the ESC.

I've seen the Kyosho product at my LHS. But how tough is it to remove from the ESC/tray if need be?

Also, has anyone used this to mount the receiver in the box? Or should I still use foam like done with 8th nitro buggies?

It isn't that hard to remove...no more so then the red Parma servo tape.

I use the zeal gel under the receiver in the box as well, works like a charm...no more brownouts when overshooting big jumps.

My RX8 was mounted on Kyosho Zeal gel. I have been using it with good luck until Saturday...

The zeal tape and Parma clear tape all work fine. To be honest I've had mine screwed down directly onto the plate without issues.

It's not always the shock of the landing causing a physical issue on an Rx8 failure. It can often be an issue with servo back feed, etc.

The servo's we're all running now have had HUGE gains in performance. These "gains" have to come from somewhere and most are from power consumption. That means from the Rx8 most of the time.

Some servos cause more issues than others. If you're not sure, ask over in the Rx8 thread and I'll be happy to help you out.

On Saturday I could hear a crunchy noise during that 12 minute main. I thought I had picked up a rock between one of the arms and outdrives. That's happened to me a couple times in the past after a few minutes it went away. Last night I was cleaning the car up and noticed that there was a lot of dirt around the center diff. On closer inspection it wasn't dirt but ground up metal. Then I noticed the pinion...

Hmmmm, maybe that was the problem.

Luckily the steel spur looks fine. I think I may have set the mesh a little too loose.

For the ESC tray, I added another set of TLR 22 gray orings under the stock orings, the tray is plushy now but I did add another layer of 3M gray tape just to be cautious

i use the 3m double sided tape you get at the hardware store, real strong and it comes off much easier than servo tape. it is thick and provides a good cushion.

Honestly, there is no need. The only issue is the brand of esc, throw away the rx8 and buy a HW sct pro. My sct pros are mounted directly to the chassis plate on all my cars, and ive never had an issue. (I've even launched my old 8e 2.0 80ft on the roof of a shed without a single hiccup) The rx8 is just too delicate for 1/8 scale cars.

Tekno steel spur 1
Mod 1 pinion 0

I do think it really helps out the the ESC is mounted forward in the chassis for the EB and SCT. My old SCTE ate a couple of ESC's. With them being mounted toward the rear and all. No way the chassis slap was helping them live longer

I was cleaning my buggy and just noticed the bearing on the rear diff pinion, on the outside of the gearbox is messed up and of course the pinion shaft is wobbly as a result. I've only run the buggy twice. Is this bearing of any other bearing on the kit prone to breaking? Also, are there any other bearings that would work because if possible, I'd like to get one from my Lhs and I know they don't have the tekno ones?
