I would bet he probably made them out of a pair of rears, that would be my guess!

Raced my B4.2 tonight, well I guess my luck wore out, popped a ballcup off warming up (Inside left rear) for the main and broke a ball cup halfway thruough the main (Rt front outer steering link). So much for my confidence in the stock ball cups, will be getting the RPM ones soon!

That being said, the buggy was awesome! The driver? Not so much!

Those do resemble pressure points. I'm pretty sure they are not cut down rears, different pattern to the "y" on the edge & nothing on the sidewall.

Raced for my first time Friday.

First qualifier race I placed a solid 3rd. Probably could have got second if I didnt crash twice my last lap.

Second Qualifier I was neck and neck all race for 1st, last minute I poped a rear ballcup, but got it back on in time to take 3rd.

Final main:

I started at C Main in 2nd. Finished first and got the bump to B Main.

Started B Main in 7th, was in about 4th when the ballcup popped again. DNF because it wasnt popped back on in time.


Over all though, my first night went great and cant wait to start racing this amazing car more!

Doesn't surprise me. They are due to release a new front tire. It would be nice if they did

Does the B.2 require any metric tools?

I'm trying to figure out which tools to buy and was looking at MIP but they all look metric and I'm assuming you can't use metric with "standard" nuts and screws.

Nope....... and MIP does sell SAE tools. I have a number of them. Not sure where I bought them though, sorry, just buy too much stuff to remember where I bought what.

What size hex drivers do you use most when doing work/maintenance on your B4.2?

I want to start buying MIP tools for my toolbox and would like to start with the most used sizes first.

1/16 and 3/32 ( I recomended getting 3/32 ball end )

Why ball end? And only ball end on 3/32?

Also use a dewalt electric screwdriver with 11/32 6 point for wheels

Personal preferance . I find it easier to work on some parts of the car with a ball end wrench

The lower gear cover can be gotten to without removing the wheel with a ball end & it makes removing the lower rear shock mount MUCH easier. With a ball end I find you have to take a little extra care not to strip out the screw & the smaller the screw, the more care you have to take. Also, none of the smaller screws are hard to get to.

A few more options for front 2wd buggy tires would be nice.

Broke my third rear shock tower last night in two weeks. Replacing the tower isn't the bad thing it is that the stupid esc wires go thru it. It was on a big track with big jumps, might go to aluminum or try out JC wing mount. I didn't see it break but there was big jump that I couldn't down side with out wiping out half the time so I would over jump it and land on the flat with some chassis slap and I think that's what finished it off. I don't want to go to aluminum but I might but than is ill probably break a U brace, lol.

stay away from the alum tower. if the wires bother you that much, pickup some short castle 4mm bullet and put those inline with the motor wires. Also, dont do jumps you cant do yet. I think you and your kids are kinda new to racing. If you cant do a jump at least 75% of the time and land on all 4 wheels, then dont bother. your just slowing yourself down.
