SC10 4x4 Thread
My truck uses the plastic chassis. I have two ounces next to the servo, and all the lightweight parts I can get. And I run almost 100% outdoor.
No matter what chassis you have, the rear springs are too soft if you want to run blues or yellows in the front. George is entitled to his opinion, and I'm comfortable with my calculations that disagree.

I just don't understand your logic or your complex frequency mesurements. Im telling you Blue fronts on the front and blue rears on the rear felt better to me on my truck where I run, so why do you insist we should move to a much higher rate front spring and the truck will be better? When I just went softer and I like the feel and handling charitaristics. I think it must be the surface you run on or your driving style. No body is wrong if they come up with a setup that feels good to them. Anyway I'm more inclined to follow cherrys advise because he's in my neighborhood and runs on the same tracks as me. You think I bought softer springs because my shocks didn't feel firm enough? Im not trying to offend you. Im actually done talking about it. I'm good. YOU WIN!

Somebody around these parts taught me this..
Sometimes after you make a change it can feel better you might like it better, but it isn't always guaranteed to be faster in the clock. I changed to a different spring package on time and it felt great to me, I liked it better. But lap times were -.5seconds slower after a 10 lap average.. So I changed back and tested again and again one day. 3 times over. At the end I the day I had confirmed without a doubt which package was better. In the end it was the stiffer setup that felt more aggressive and harder to drive in comparison.
Point if the post is.. Check your lap time average and test over and over, a lot. The times won't lie but going by "feel" will.

Re posted one time in hopes someone else will see it
Spent a good hour or so looking around but didn't really come up with what I was looking for, hoping one of you might be able to point me in the right direction.
I was trying to find a break down of what comes with each version. There seems to be an unlimited amount of different Price sc10 kits and different price RTR's, but no real description of what the differences are.
I realize there are lipo combos, brushed, brushless and some are 2wd while others are 4wd, but there really isn't a comprehensive list of whats different as far as upgraded aluminum parts and such in each kit or RTR.
Is there anything even close to what I'm looking for that any of you have seen?

How much weight is everyone adding for loose rough 1/8 style outdoor tracks?
I only ran my SC10 4x4 a few times last year before our season ended. I have the Exotek chassis / fwd batt mount. I also have the R/C Shox center diff. There's plenty of room behind the ESC and reciever to pile some extra weight in...
