That's pretty good. How did you find the handling with the 6500 pack?
Our mains for my class is only 7mins. The nitro classes are threatening to go to 20 at some point, but I'm not sure if this will effect me as it would probably mean a mixing of nitro and EP, which I'm not sure if that would ever occur.
Nitro is the dominant class, which is fine by me at the moment as I'm very much a beginner, but I guess if I ever got decent I would want to compete at a higher level and unless we get a lot more EP guys (they keep telling newbies to get a nitro vehicle) that would mean joining them and being possibly ready to go 20mins. Though I guess if I could do 20mins without stopping to refuel then I would have an advantage.

I'll be using the same Kv motor. If you're only using up that much mah in a 10min main, then this should be plenty:http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...-ROAR-Approved
Correct? I was going to go smc, but they're outta stock and 6500mah seems overkill if my track only has 10 min mains. I've heard 35C is enough with that Kv motor and the tekno drivetrain is a lot more efficient than traditional setups. Is my reasoning sound on all of this? Already on a tight budget, don't want to spend more on e-buggy then i have to.

Some may dispute what a C rating should be at a minimum but last year I ran 45C packs in my Serpent (before the Tekno was released) and they worked just fine.

runtime is very track dependent. I remember back in the day when this all got going guys were reporting doing 25 minutes with a 5000mah battery.
Tried the same thing on tracks out there, got about 13 - 14 minutes.
To guarentee for my purposes a 15 minute run, I went with a 6000mah pack, could do about 17 - 18 minutes max with it, hard driving.
I believe IP will have some 7200mah 80C 4S batteries in stock at promatchracing, for overseas you probably can find them now. For that long of racing, I would probably get those.

I'm just wondering how these larger capacity batteries will effect handling. 7200 will give great runtime but it would be pretty heavy. The next innovation is lighter large capacity batteries, that would be sweet.
It would also be track and driver dependant. Not a concern for now and maybe ever for me, depending on the EP scene at my track. I will try and get this buggy sweetly balanced for now.

You know Poet I've been doing really well trying not to get too worked up about outdoor season opening soon and then you go and post this video.
I miss driving my EB48 on that track. I can't wait until the first race. I will be visiting soon to get my driving back into shape.

That being said, our track is washed out now and very loose, so a bunch of throttle drift is occurring. You can see the track back when it had traction here before we let it go over the winter:
Note: If you recognize my car...it was my 2nd race ever with an 8th scale...so yeah...I sucked. LOL

To reply to the question on the last page about handling with the heavier pack...
All of my packs are full size 4s packs (5000mah to 6500mah), so a little bit of weight difference wasn't very noticeable between them all. I've not yet driven with a smaller 4s pack, or with twin shorty packs like Chris runs, so I can't compare to that.

Maybe next week. Jacob has one more basketball game tomorrow. I honestly don't care for the indoor track. It's better than nothing, but I much prefer the big outdoor tracks.
